I have read/heard numerous times since last week that we should have taken care of business last week, we beat them 8/10 times, we were the better team etc. I disagree. They are the better team right now because of 3 areas. They handle away game pressure better. They don’t make crucial mistakes at key points in the game. Their sideline is aggressive and decisive/not overthinking. On top of that they beat us straight up. They play within their limits and let the game come to them and handle the situation at hand. Player by player we are probably more talented but at qb and IOL no. Minchey is cool and calm and does not put the ball in harms way. Not the athlete SL is but a better game qb right now. Their sideline overthinks during the week and not during the game. WS is decisive and aggressive when it is called for. The DC is steady and picks his spots. The gap is not wide between the 2 teams right now but they are the better team at this point.

Nope. Our post game win expectancy was 66%. Neutral site we would be close to 14 point favorites.

They get Vandy next week, but then Tennessee away, Florida at home, and Missouri away. Going into those games with a big bullseye on their back won’t be easy. I think they finish 9-3, but this team will have overachieved to reach that.

He also has the benefit of coaching KY and has nothing to lose, the same way Kiffin was when he first started at Ole Miss. He can afford to take all the chances and if he pulls it off, he’s a hero. If he doesn’t, oh well, it’s just KY. There is zero pressure to win there. Do you think Kiffin doesn’t go for it on 4th and 1 at any point at Ole Miss? He’s coaching with house money. That stretch of @Tenn, UF and Mizzou will be where reality sets in for either KY fans or the rest of the country.

The results favor your assessment, however, I don't think we would have lost that game if we had executed on less than 4 plays on defense not including the 2 point play.

I disagree. I think LSU is a better team than KY. Way better statistically. It being a road game gave KY a large advantage.

If you’re making that point to try to soften that loss, you’re misguided. Kentucky is in the same boat as LSU as far as first-year coach taking over a team that was not a playoff contender. LSU spent way more money than Kentucky for this season, starting with the head coach and going to the player roster budget. And LSU is a football school and Kentucky is not. So if, for the sake of argument, Kentucky is a better team right now, that’s also an indictment of the coaching staff, be it because of misses in player evaluation or player development or just coaching.

LSU should not be losing to Kentucky in football when both programs essentially started in the same spot this year.

Unfortunately football is a game of realities and not expectancies. KY has won SEC road games against A&M, USCe, and OK. Granted not world beaters but still, as is pointed out for our loss to KY, SEC tough environment road games. We have failed our 2 SEC road tests, granted against far tougher opponents. Will they prove to be the better team by seasons end remains to be seen. But RIGHT NOW they ARE the better team.

The better team doesn’t always win.

Yes I pointed out they were better right now on the field and sidelines. Our staff has overthought situations too much in games and they have not. Right now, KY coaching staff has outperformed ours. It’s not a huge gap as I mentioned but it is the reality of the situation. One team is 6–1 and the other is 6-2. One is 3-0 in SEC road games and the other is 0-2. One has beaten the other. Just dealing in the reality of the season to date. That can all change over the course of the next 4 games.

The better team ALWAYS wins. The season is a series of 12+ 60 min us vs you contests. The winner of each is ALWAYS the best team at that time. I know what you are saying but there is NO measurable to date other than meaningless stats that say we are a better team.

That's not true at all. The better team does not always win. The more fortunate team, Kentucky in this case, won. They are not better than us. Stop your retard analysis.

Half way competent refs and they have 14 less points in regulation

Refs were absolutely abhorrent

What’s retarded is everyone forgetting that they missed not one but two very makable field goals in regulation that would have made all the OT ref talk mute.

True, but had they made one or both of those kicks it would have changed our last drive as well. We wouldn’t have just been trying to run out the clock, but score.
