Mingione thinks if he slows the game down and changes pitchers a million times that it somehow gives his team a better chance to win. He’s about as annoying to watch as the Dave Serrano UCI teams

Sometimes small ball can win u a close game and help u, but it also can kill chances for a big inning. Giving free outs can hurt vs an explosive offense. Also slowing the game down can hurt you momentum. IMO small ball only works if you have a great pitching staff
