They have competition in the sec for the first time since Cal has been there.

Florida won the SEC and beat Kentucky three times in 2013-14

Louisville's best player is a 5th year transfer from a bad Drexel team. We would beat both of those teams this year. Our OOC is pretty bad and I'm not taking anything away from UK's.. Just pointing out that those two aren't very good

the no show in second half against NC state in the 2015 NCAA was not a good sign for coaching. LSU and good game time coaches don't seem to go together lately.

Well, it is kinda hard to give up supporting the greatest men's college basketball program of all time, so I'll just stick with my long-standing (and entirely rational) support for UK basketball.

You play to win, but you don't fire a coach who keeps getting you to the final four

period.

I'm so confused how someone can say that Blakeney and Simmons are the only 2 good players on the team...

Yet, look at their respective records.

Don't be ridiculous. No one on this thread is suggesting Cal deserves to be fired. The origin of this discussion was where Kentucky fans were knocking Johnny for being a recruiter-only and weak in strategy, which is to a large degree hypocritical given that Cal has built his career on just that.

I often read this on the tiger rant... I can't seem to put my finger on it... I think it has to do with questioning a coach for underachieving? Can somebody help me out?

Good overall record, good recruiter, one championship, choking in important games, questionable game management, needs overwhelming talent to win... It really is on the tip of my tongue.

Oh well, I guess you've made your point.

And four final fours in the last five years. But who cares about that right? I mean, Johnny Jones is a great coach. That's why he's at LSU. It's just a matter of time before LSU wins a NC anyways. Hell they'll probbaly pass Kentucky in NC's soon. They only have 8 more to go.

To compare the talent Cal has had to the talent CJJ is so laughable. This is the first time ever CJJ has had even close to a Calipari type talent. No one would touch him for a while because of his ties to Lester Earl. Of course, no one cares about Calipari and Camby and Rose and who knows what else.

But I thought "you play to win the game?".

If you really believe that then why does it matter how or why the team wins?

Actually, a whole lot of people care. He was cleared by the NCAA, though.

Correct. He's only been at UK for 7 seasons and already has 1 NC. Not half bad, huh?

No, no...in his life. He's coached about 40 players that have played in the NBA and has 1 title ever.
