Yeah. You usually are fricked for a little while when you take over a program with 39 scholarship players and a WR playing QB.Duh.

I mean there is no magic pill to fix our issues. Due to the roster he inherited he was forced to piece meal the defense together 2 years in a row. Last year it worked out, this year its not.
Lucky for us we have an incredible offense so all we need to do is marginally improve on defense and we will win. Can we make those improvements? We shall see.

I didn’t hear that at all
There’s nothing he can say that’s going to make people happy but he at least seemed like #1 he wasn’t panicking like the last coach and #2 didn’t sound like he’s married to his system come hell or high water like the coach before that.
He sounded like a coach who has done this a long time, who is calm and is going to focus on doing what can be done with the situation that he has.
I’m really not sure what else you’d want or expect?

He said as much after the FSU game. Something like “we’re not the team that I thought we were”.
We have 2 “upperclassmen” at CB, but it’s their first year at LSU. Alexander & Chestnut are simply not as good as JBC & Garner were for us last year.
Everyone else is either a Fr or Sophomore. We’ll finally have some experienced LSU guys at CB next year

I mean what more could he have said. He knows defend is shite. He’s got to be careful about what he says or he’s gonna lose the locker room. These kids want to win just as bad as we do.

Piece mealing a defense together who may not match up with everyone week to week is one thing. Players missing tackles, out of position, and blowing coverages have nothing to do with the roster issues he inherited.

Those were fun times. I was in high school and was so use to my dad bitching about how terrible LSU was. He would have been a gem on tRant in 90’s

How does having players that aren't good have nothing to do with roster issues? Thats 100% roster issues. If he inherited a bunch of studs in the secondary then you would be correct but he inherited Major Burns, Sage Ryan, and Latterance Welch. Thats it.
