re: Keep up the vulgarities students

Yeah, all of you students chanting this aren't white trash at all.


At all.

I went with my son to a game a couple of weeks ago and sat with the students as a visitor and other than "kick their arse" no other cuss words were heard. From what is posted here, the other areas had more cussing than the students. And thanks students it was the best time I had at a game.

I dont remember Roy saying that the song is gone...

It is pretty simple:

Organized cussing during a song the band plays = removal of that song = less songs played by the band = more crappy piped in music = not as good game atmosphere

And before I get bashed like some others, I am still in my twenties, graduated from LSU, have no kids, and care way more about the football game itself than what is going on in the stands.

That being said, I wish the students would chant vulgarities when the piped in music comes on, so we could hear less of it and more of the band playing.

I really don't care if someone gets upset during a play and cusses about something, especially in the student section, but having an organized vulgar chant during a song which will undoubtedly get it removed is just plain dumb.

Other than that one instance, I thought the students were great this game (considering it was a 63-14 blowout)

I would disagree. I just graduated and thought the chants were retarded (as well as a good number of my peers), but it happens and its drunk college kids.

The difference is when they do it. They can have entire conversations for 4 hours using just the word "frick" for all I care. Its when they put it to the music and get these great songs taken away. I agree that the administration is stupid for trying to stop it. But what are you going to do? It comes down to a choice: would you rather say "suck that tiger dick," or would you rather maintain the cool traditions we have in music? I miss the oo ee oo chant a lot. I think having that back after TDs is greater than getting to scream at some big muscular sweaty dudes to put their mouths on my penis.

Maybe that's just me though.

Didn't that AD send out an email about this a couple years ago? Maybe it's time for another one.

The more I think about it, the vulgarity isn't as much the problem as the lame, dumbass level of the shite the student section comes up with. They just aren't clever or funny. Sound like a bunch of rednecks that could be from Mississippi State, Ole Miss or Alabama. Then again, I'm not sure why that would surprise me.
