We desperately needed a scrappy guy who enjoyed playing defense. Words cant describe how important that is to a team. The fact that hes 6'11" and huge helps as well. I give a lot of credit to him for this turn around. Easily my favorite player on this team.

At one point, he was altering every shot other than 3-pointers. Dominant presence and a huge difference maker.

That's the thing. He's not only blocking shots, but he's altering and affecting shots as well.

He is. Also, I like Emmit Williams's energy off the bench.

Actually I think Taylor is the guy we needed badly. But shoot they are all playing significant roles at this point and it a good thing that we saying different players are the difference makers. Waters is playing really good as well. It's really a great team effort right now and only getting better.

That is just awesome to see. This team NEEDED someone like this after that short period of playing soft and aimless. KVB is the truth.

We needed both. Taylor is physical and is an athletic freak. Now he is starting to hit 3s too which makes him a serious weapon because you don't know how to defend him.

I can see that for sure. KBW just affects so much during a game. Hes priceless for this team.

Gafford had an amazing game. But they wouldnt let KBW even touch the dude without a foul. If the refs called a "let them play" kind of game I believe the stat line for Gafford would have been a tad different.

That's what I'm saying. Where would we be without Waters right now also. What about Skyler Mays especially in the first few games. Naz Ried, Emmit Williams, KBW and Marlon Taylor have all improved a ton since the beginning of the year. Same with Waters. He wasn't himself and is now turning it up. That step back 3 late in the second half was a dagger.

LSU hasn't lost a game when Marlon Taylor starts. Idk if that's significant or not but it's a fact.

I still believe Waters is the key as evidenced tonight. Night and day performance in the two halves.

But it's huge to have a rim protector. Love the hustle and all the dirty work he's willing to do. Hope some of that rubs off on Naz.

KBW leading the break is a bonus.

Welp. Start em. Every game. If he can keep improving his jump shot then the sky is the limit with that type of athleticism. He could be scary good.

I'm hoping he becomes the "man" for next years team.

So important. Soooooo important. If Naz can get a little Bigby in him then we can go far.

No doubt about it. They will need to get better to beat teams like Kentucky when they're on and Tennessee but I believe they can do it because I think those teams are playing some of their best Basketball where I think LSU is still finding itself.

KBW, Naz, Taylor, Waters, Emmit Williams, Smart and Days can all play much better. Smart is starting to show what he can do from outside. If they can figure out how to drive to the rim with success is when we will take the next leap. GT

I agree that Smart needs to start attacking more. That opens up everything.

And we can beat Tennessee and Kentucky. That's what's so fun about basketball. This team has seen what they can do when they play with some heart and they have seen what happens when they come out flat. Sometimes the shots just aren't going to fall but I dont think we will see the team we saw earlier in the year when it comes to effort and intensity.

100% agree and if Wade had the confidence in him early on that he does now we could be undefeated. Dunno why he didn’t play him in these games but I have to believe we’dve had a better chance to win with him on the floor in 2 of our 3 losses.

KBW minutes
9 minutes vs FSU
6 minutes vs Houston

I really do agree. He has been the biggest surprise on this team imo. I’m grateful that Will Wade has given him serious minutes lately. He is the athlete you want when it comes down to playing a big game. His offensive effort on the glass is something I havent seen in a long time. He can sneak around block-outs and jump vertically to get a tip on the ball. And that is our 3 man most of the time. Youd expect that from a 4 or 5.
