I've said this over and over. When a guy goes from elite to ordinary, it's almost always an injury related demise. Let's just hope he can get back to Frosh form soon...

Possibly. It’s also possible that he’s just lazy and didn’t prepare.

Either way, he's a Tiger and we should be wishing him the best instead of bashing him.

Meh. Ben Simmons was a Tiger too.

Look, I don’t wish him any ill but nothing that transpired between making noise about transferring to Bama and the way he left the program makes him someone I feel moved to actively root for. Tiger or not.

He ran a 4.67 on his 2nd 40. I wonder if his ankle still isn’t right. I would have guessed he was a sub 4.5 guy before his injury.

Now we know why his production was down last year. I think you are right. He has not totally recovered from his ankle injury.

Jamar Chase quit on LSU to avoid the exact situation Boutte went thru

Then how did Malik have a breakout year and became the first wr since chase/jj to have a 1,000 yard season?

What kind of situation is that? What did he go through?

You can’t blame the QB when the wr2 nearly tripled your production

LSU got some slow WRs. Boutte 4.67 and Jaray Jenkins 4.61. Smh

Lost a lot of respect in Boutte after that FSU game.

His bullshite over the previous offseason didn’t cause you to lose a lot of respect for him?

You might be surprised to learn that despite your characterization of Boutte being a victim of a run-centric QB, only 4 QBs in LSU history passed for more yards than Daniels in a single season.

That’s not surprising at all with how the sport has change but also LSU’s history.

The Ruston Rifle had to split time his junior year and then didn’t reach 1,500 his senior season.

McClendon was playing 2 QBs long before Spurrier just for different reasons.

i always gave Boutte the benefit of the doubt last year

but these numbers are bad for a team that claims to be WRU

he might have a chance at being a solid player in the xfl

Did he appear to be a guy who is lazy and didn't prepare, his freshman year?
Why, when its close to his "money year", would he lose his drive.

Don’t know if it’s laziness, but his abilities probably made things much easier for him up until his injury.

The released depth charts for games at beginning of season had him at 185 in 2020, at 190 in 2021, and then 205 in 2022 (I just saved ones from closer to beginning of seasons). Combine put him at 195.

Don’t know if he had serious injuries before 2021 (or accuracy of depth chart measurements as they also list him at 6ft while combine put him at 5’ 11”), but coming off an ankle/leg injury and missing 2nd half of 2021 season 15 pounds seems like a lot of weight to gain during rehab of ankle/leg injury and preparing for money year.

Being out an extended time for injuries can expose issues with work ethic. Being young His work ethic might not have been tested before this and relied on natural ability and various sporting requirements of practices and games/events to stay in shape, so it’s possible he can learn from this and improve versus it just being who he is.

While Boutte's is predominantly to blame for the position he is in, it is not all on Boutte. I am a big fan of Daniels, but his biggest fault was not seeing the whole field. Being limited, he found a security blanket in Nabors and it worked out well in the long run.

Or maybe Daniels looked for the target who was going to catch his pass attempts. Boutte dropped passes all season long. I think he dropped multiple would be touchdowns in the first game of the season against FSU and it continued throughout the season.

Kayshon put the same effort into the combine that he put into the '22 season.

Why wouldn't KB prepare himself for the combine and want to do well after the season he had in '22? This is KB's potential livelihood for the next couple of years hopefully. KB had one of the lowest verts in the entire WR group and DLs ran faster 40's. Red flags galore.

Some team is still going to waste a draft pick on KB though. Maybe the light comes on but this is classic boom or bust with a heavy lean to bust.

Agreed. He must not have trained to hard.

Someone will spend a pick on him. I could see him being a 4th rounder.

We’re talking about the same guy that Brian Kelly publicly called out, right?
