He could still squeeze in an occasional commercial.

Oh ya from that perspective IDGAF where he goes. Rutgers can have him.

Maybe he just wants a job where people will be happy to go to a bowl and once in a while threaten to win the division. That's all those fans want.
Same as Maryland

Really? Because, apparently, the plane has now turned west.

It's Rice this week not Alabama.
Turning west means nothing at this point.

He should be successful there especially considering what success would be considered at a blue blood basketball school like Kansas. If Mark Mangino could have some levels of success there and send quality players to the NFL then Ol Les should be able to do the same.

They have just built a brand new indoor and will be completely renovating their stadium. I think it’s a good move at this point in his career

I'd be shocked if he took the gig. That LSU money for nothing has to be sweet.
It might be a smokescreen.

All very true, but they do have Pooka!!!!!!!! He's very good.

If we're gonna stalk them, can we at least have the tail number?

I doubt Kansas could afford his buyout from LSU. Plus, he is at a program on the cusp of competing for a NC. I doubt very seriously he could build Kansas into a NC contender. I doubt Saban could even do that. The only way a HC at LSU can compete with the elite in college football is to get elite coaching, elite coordinators. Aranda is elite, SE is not. If Orgeron does not get an elite OC this offseason next season will be another coulda woulda shoulda season. Another loss to Sabama, another loss to a team they should beat. I'd tend to believe Aranda would be seriously considered for a promotion after that. I don't see him leaving LSU for Kansas where his abilities would be limited by a lack of talent on the field.

What difference? We owe him his remaining base salary (3.5 years?) over twice the term (6.5 years?) so we are paying him half his salary with us. All this minus what was our prior to his firing of that year. So about $1.5mm/year.
Sounds like $2mm gets us off the hooks for the years he is employed with them. We have ~4.5 years? And any buyout they would give him May come into play. However, that extra $500k would not benefit us like some coaches contracts. Lots of coaches contracts stipulate that any amount pays down the buyout owed, Les’ not so much.

It would be a pay cut and he would have to work. No way Miles takes or gets the KU job.
