What this tells me is that McMillan must have been confident he would be named starter.
With the ability to leave and play immediately, waiting this late in the game diminishes those chances considerably for him.

Does Canada have a proven starter at Maryland? Any chance McMillan is going there?

Good luck to the kid
but goddamn, these guys need to learn to proofread these things

He’s such a passive aggressive bitch with the big shoutout to Les Miles and Cam Cameron he’s annoyed me just as much this entire offseason as Brandon Harris did when he followed a ton of coaches on twitter because he was mad, good riddance to a dude who isn’t talented at all but has made a spectacle out of himself every chance he’s gotten this offseason because he had one mediocre spring game

Brennan is not taking a redshirt year.
Correct if wrong — Brennan can play in up to four games and still redshirt. Assuming no catastrophic injury to Burrow, he should still be a redshirt candidate.

stop the negativity ...
that's who recruited him...it is logical
it is not a celebrity show where these kids go down the list
Come on. It’s not really negativity.
The kid went out of his way to thank the previous coaching staff and did not even mention the current one.
That is not even a subtle jab at O. It is obvious

If our season plays out like the last 2, Brennan can easily redshirt this year

Props to him for sticking it out this long. It was a pipe dream that he'd be our starter, even moreso when Burrow transfered over.
Might as well see if you can actually play.

It seems pretty obvious that they knew Burrow had the job. I don't blame them. At least we know for sure now Burrow is our guy?
that may be the case....
junior quarterback Justin McMillan
he may have to transfer to a school that can take him and where he can play at once, or his eligibility may be drastically shortened.
freshman quarterback Lowell Narcisse
may have more options in that he could possibly sit out a year and still have playing time.

I find it interesting that McMillan thanks Les and Cam, but not O and E....
To be fair to everyone - Les and Cam recruited dual-threat QBs and ran pro-style anyway. O and E appear (while O was really bipolar about it early on) to be focusing on pro-style QBs and intend to run a pro-style offense.
I could be wrong, but that's at least a little progress.

Damn didn’t mention O or E
Ouch
Ouch

What if he did outright pick Burrow from the start and lied to the press and fans? What if he told McMillan he had a chance when he never really did? What if he was harder on one QB and not the others? What if Brennan is getting protected?
Or what if he just got passed up by Burrow and Brennan and hit his feelings hurt? Did you see the video of him shitting his pants and throwing an easy pick to Andre Anthony in a drill where he knew he wouldn’t be hit? That kid isn’t an SEC QB and never even should’ve been given a scholarship to LSU. He had 0 offers when Les and Cam offered him. He didn’t take visits to any other schools. Les thought offering him would help with Lodge and that backfired. Losing Narcisse is one thing. This one just isn’t a big deal.

Surprised it didn't happen after Burrow came in. Best of luck to him, seems like a good guy.

What if??????
Burrow was brought in to start. Period.
Anyone who ever thought otherwise is a fool.

I'm also not saying O is definitely in the wrong, but automatically assuming that he has no fault is pretty short-sighted. But that's par for the course. O can do no wrong.
I agree with your post.
I have said all along that O comes off to me like a snake oil salesman. He has a certain Dale Brown feel to him. If he can win football games, then great...but can it last long term?

I’m sorry that you’re 50 years old and still waste all of your time posting on a college sports message board, I’m young enough to talk about someone who’s roughly my age like that. I have absolutely no obligation to give Justin McMillan a “classy sendoff” for Internet brownie points. Go rack up another 50k posts on tigerdroppings you pencil pushing insecure arse loser

Exactly!! Burrow was absolutely given the starting job when he visited LSU the first time. Coach O's greatest asset/detriment is that he is an amazing "Used Car Salesman". And we will eventually get what we deserve by hiring him....

I agree. And Narcisse is a big gamble as it is. He's got all kind of skills, but his maximum value is a dual-threat. Either knee takes one more wrong hit and he's done. Wish him the best.
That's just reality. On the other hand, McMillian was always an insurance policy.
