I love these conflicting narratives you guys push. First all of our top 100 recruits and 4/5* kids are all overrated, at the same time McMahon is a great developer of talent yet he couldn’t develop that talent enough to go more than 2-16 in conference play.

If Williams hadn’t developed in 2 years under Wade and McMahon, maybe he’s just not that good?
Williams looked better his first year with Wade, after teammate's injuries forced him into the lineup, than he did at any time this past season.
He may never make All Star but I predict he will play better at his next stop.
It may have just been the system that he couldn't adapt to, and not the coaching.

That's all fine but LSU isn't replacing anyone right now in either transfer portal or recruiting which isn't a good sign. Having like the 60th ranked recruiting class ain't going to get it done here. For the reason alone Mc isn't going to make it a few years as HC here. He sucks at recruiting which can't happen in college sports.

What the normy fan doesn’t understand is these players aren’t stupid. They get a lot of input from other coaches and basketball personnel when they transfer. McMahon and LSU aren’t attractive to anyone who isn’t desperate. The style of play, the quality of play isn’t going to attract competitive talent.

Well, I don’t understand how you call an 18 year old player “overrated” especially longer/lengthy players. They need more time to develop. How many 1 and done players do you think will be drafted this year? I’ll give you a ballpark. Maybe 15-20. How many of those are 6’9+? 5. Your expectations for top 100 players is ignorant and unrealistic. The speed of the game for a big man is night and day. 2 of our freshmen are 6’10+. Why do you think guys like Timme and Bacot who are great college bigs stay in college as long as possible? So they don’t end up like Luka Garza.

First off that’s only 2 of the 5 top 100 guys you’re referring to and secondly you’re creating a double standard by ignoring that other teams do just fine with much less.

Who said talent upgrade? We haven’t signed a replacement yet.
The guys who are leaving averaged a combined about 10 points a game for a team that won 2 conf games.
No matter who they are replaced with these guys were not and will not be SEC caliber players.
Removing them from the roster only helps. They simply cannot play at this level.

- Williams was an off ball player McMahon forced to play PG

Personally I just want to see LSU win.
Seems a lot of people are just more interested in defending one coach while bashing another. It’d be nice to discuss portal activity without the other bs

Oh so the other top 100 guys we got from the portal played enough to get some experience where they were before?? Not to mention having alot of expectations to produce and learning a new system with a new staff??
