At this rate, the only player we’ll have next year is the Detroit Mercy kid who’ll transfer here and appeal for a 6th year of eligibility

Man what a dumpster fire

How is cutting dead weight a dumpster fire? Want to run it back with the same squad?

It’s only cutting dead weight if you can replace the player with someone better. Which I’m sure is the plan…. One would hope.

No more justice around here.

I like JW and wish him well. He’s a year younger than your average rising junior. Still time to develop.

I’d rather try some new guys then roll with guys I know aren’t capable

Nope! We've seen that movie and it was bad. Time for a new cast. If the next cast is equally bad, time for a new director.

Where do these kids think they are gonna go?? What resume do they have that another school would want to take a “risk” on these outcasts? I just hope we don’t try to rerecruit them back.

A lot of schools play D1 basketball. I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to McNese

This would be a hell of a troll. I'd have to respect it.

We'll go back and forth on this all day and neither will agree, but I think a different coach does a MUCH better job with that same squad this past year. Much better being something in the range of 7-8 SEC wins and at least 20 overall given the OOC schedule was so incredibly weak. Thus, I'm not confident simply revamping the roster is going to lead to significant improvement on its onw. The coaching has to be revamped too.
However, given the fact there isn't going to be a coaching change this year, SOMETHING has to change. Taking the same roster (minus its best player),the same coaching staff, and the same overall approach clearly isn't going to work. So that change is going to be in the roster.
It is highly unlikely LSU is going to be able to pull in many (if any) highly ranked transfers. So McMahon is going to have to either find guys with the skillset he needs to implement his preferred approach OR find the best individuals he can and tailor his approach to fit their strengths. Trying to jam a square peg in a round hole again is going to result in as bad as season next year. Possibly worse

Justice was a Will Wade holdover. And frankly, he is not close to SEC caliber. His departure is necessary. Would you prefer he stay?
Dont just say stupid shite because you dont know any better

There are 350 D-1 schools. All are looking to fill roster spots to some degree. Justice Williams was a top 60 player as a recruit. He had offers from a lot of major programs. I'm sure the coaches who recruited him at those schools haven't forgotten about him. They'll at least take a look.

I will believe he is cutting dead weight when he starts bringing in SEC caliber players.

Louisiana showing its lack of basketball knowledge again.. man kid didnt wanna play at lsu he cant play anywhere.. not even southland

Is it that he “didn’t wanna play at LSU” or he couldn’t do anything with his opportunities and sees that he’d be better off leaving as a result?
He’s been here 2 or 3 years.
