Kind of off topic but has there been any legitimate discussion about the Texas game? I have to think they’re obligated to take the return trip at some point?

Yes. Texas is excited to visit TS. No details were give, but I assume the deck needs to be shuffled to accommodate every entity.

We (Drum Line) loaded all of our percussion equipment. Sousaphones loaded theirs. Most of the other instruments were loaded by KKP and other staff members.......

Interesting. I spoke to my guy in the ticket office this morning and was told, yes, we did sell all of our original allotment.
I asked about asking/getting more from UCLA in the future and he said currently they had NO PLANS to ask for more

When single game tickets go on sale and UCLA has 25,000 unsold seats, is the moment they will beg LSU to buy more tickets. Grant it you can just go on UCLA's site and buy them.
I am just relaying what I was told.

I put down a $50 seat deposit through the lsu ticket office for a season ticket. My taf philanthropic rank is around 6k. Would be cool if your friend could bump my name up in the list. My email is foreverlsu100@yahoo.com

Everyone email TAF and the band director and explain to them it is a sin to not send the band to a football game.
I’d sponsor a member or two. Figure a grand a member or so. Let’s do it. See if your guy can set up a fund.

Damon Talley is Director of all Bands - dtalley@lsu.edu
Let’s not forget him either. Just emailed and let them know that all we need is a “we will go if we have the funding” and we will make it happen.
Go fund me would take a few hours.

As I first stated in the sticky thread, I just emailed him and others, including my TAF rep:
"I am reaching out to you upon reading your comments in the Advocate regarding the decision to cancel the band from traveling to Pasadena. It is unfortunate that the student band members will not get to experience their school playing a football game at the most historic facility in football on national television. As an alum and solid ranking TAF member, the thought is embarrassing that we will not have band representation on primetime national television. It is obvious to the LSU community that the band is what makes college football unique and different from all professional sports. With the exception of the players and coaches on the field, the band is the focal point during all college football telecasts.
To me, as well as the majority of the alumni and fanbase, the band is part of the team. It is what helps make LSU special, helps bring people of all backgrounds together, and provides the glue which bonds the student, alum, fan, athletes, and coaches together. This is the pageantry of the sport that we cannot afford to omit. To not have the band at the game is unacceptable. While I understand that economics have lead to a hard decision, I am upset that the supporters of LSU were not notified of this issue months ago. We can help, but only if we are aware that there was a financial issue with sending the band to Pasadena.
The same situation occurred in 2009 when LSU travelled to Seattle to play the University of Washington. LSU was not going to fly the band to the game due to budget. This upset the LSU community, particularly the alumni chapter in Washington. They knew it would be the first and only LSU football game in their state. Money was raised by their chapter and other alumni, and were able to fund the pep band to attend the game. I am not sure if LSU paid for any of the cost, but the fact is the LSU supporting community helped overturn a decision with their support.
If your department, or the athletic department would just issue a press release stating that you need help with funding, and direct the public to an avenue which they can donate to a fund, I am confident it would address your economic concerns. I am sure that the alumni base in Los Angeles would rush to support this effort, as well as all fans attending the game, including my entire family and relatives.
It is not too late to reconsider and send the band to the Rose Bowl. An example was set in 2009 in Washington. If LSU figured out how to play sports during a pandemic, they can figure out how to gather the necessary funding to send the band to the game. This is extremely important to everyone in the LSU community.
Please reconsider your decision, and let the LSU community know how they can help and address the issue. We will be there to help you. All you have to do is reach out to us."

Very well written. I sent brief but similar requests. It really is all we need.
Let’s hope they reconsider.

Are they actually adding on or just reworking existing space to fit the offices in somewhere? I would think they would have to be adding on. That facility is not very large and there would need to be several offices added, plus I know both coaches want a training and weight facility there as well.
