Kelly isn't vindicated, and the only reason there's any hatred toward Kelly is due to Kelly opening his mouth about ND after he left. He's a sleezeball and most of your fan base hasn't come to that realization yet. Most of the ND fanbase is extremely happy he left
Marcus Freeman accomplished much more in 3 years than Kelly did in 12. He beat several top 10 teams, won 2 major bowl games, and didn't get blown out/embarrassed in the championship game.
Go look back and show me how many NY6 bowl games Kelly has won. I'll save you the time ZERO!
Thank your AD for taking him off our hands and paying him an ungodly amount of money for never winning anything of importance.
I'll visit this forum in a couple of years and check in on what you think of Kelly. Maybe by then you'll realize he's a 9-10 win coach, but he can't win the BIG GAMES! ENJOY!

Yep, after squandering a 31-7 lead, Ohio state wanted to be 3rd and 11 on their 34 leading by 8 with almost 3 minutes on the clock. Their prior 2 possessions were a fumble and punt. They made a great play on a gutsy deep shot. I guarantee they were sweating bullets which is something Kelly has yet to force an opponent to do in any major bowl crucible.
..: ND had 2 TDs, two 2 point conversions and a missed FG on the 3 previous possessions leading to OSU’s deep shot.

And Freeman, who was hired by Kelly, inherited the house that Kelly built.
When you look at it that way..... then CBK got repossessed 1983 single wide.

I’m not sure how anything you said contradicts my point. Ohio St got conservative on both sides of the ball and almost waited too long to re-awaken. Once they were actually on the verge of danger, they drove down the field and sealed the game. When they needed to score, they did, just as they had their first 5 drives.

LOL. ND was getting curb stomped so bad in first half that OSU came out in second half and sleep walked through first quarter and half. Kudos for ND for continuing to play hard but ND didn't even belong on that field with them. But you keep thinking that's what happened. And if it had been the Bama or Clemson teams that Kelly played I can assure you they wouldn't have taken the foot off the pedal. That's an OSU thing obviously.

You don’t really think playing Indiana, Georgia without their starting QB, and a Penn St team that always loses big games is the same as playing Alabama and Clemson at their height, do you?

How is having to wait four playoff rounds for Notre Dame to lose “just like that”?

SayHey24, Domer4Life and MarkGolf, you guys provide great insight into Notre Dame's program and all. I hope you guys keep posting and giving your opinions.

I believe most fans would agree that Les Miles was a decent coach, not an elite coach like Saban, Urban Meyers, Pete Carole, Coach Spurrier.
Kelly will be once he wins a Natty here, no reason he can't.

There’s some really good football minds here. Great school, program and fan base…
PS The LSU Med school is top shelf. I’m heading to the Mater Dei, CA Nike Extravaganza tonight with a grad… Stanford to LSU…

I can give you 100 million reasons why B K left Notre Dame for LSU. Did Notre Dame try to match that to keep him, don't know. I do think you have a better chance recruiting 4* 5* star guys in Louisiana, Texas, Florida than Notre Dame does thanks to the power of the SEC. Without the big payout, Kelly's never leaves the Fighting Irish.

Talk about revisionist history.

ND had 1 5* player. Bryce Young, son of ND/NFL/HOF Bryant.
I believe GA, OSU each had 14 or 15…
We filled gaps with portal transfers…

So Notre Dame should move to the SEC or Big Ten with the big boys, if you really want an honest perspective on their team. Maybe they could even contend in the ACC.

Congrats on the biggest COPE post I’ve ever seen. You’re so glad to be rid of him that you’re coming to a site for the team he coaches 3 years after he left you. Congrats on winning nothing. I hope you come back the next time we win ANOTHER national championship #yawn
