Just replying to how it can beneficial to have two backs in on the same play.. I never said I wanted their offense. I said it was a fun offense to watch though..

Besides, those are just a number of plays..

LSU basically ran the same play for a long TD in the bowl game.. so what about that?

I know what youre saying. I just think it is a redundancy. Use it in one game if it creates a specific mismatch. Otherwise, work on your actual offense. NCAA only allows so much practice time.

Btw that was Chark in the bowl game. They weren't keying on him to run bc he is a WIDE RECEIVER. Also there are several long runs by having te FB blocking for LF. Those plays set up great playaction to wrs, then to screens. Play to your strengths and practice them well. Too much time spent on having a redundancy for the misdirection possibility every so often. Dont wanna be a master of none.

It was absolutely a fun offense to watch. I remember leaving the game with jaw dropped. But often overlooked in that offense is Peyton Hillis. You know the cover of Madden guy and breaker of so many fantasy football GMs' hearts that one year?

But I don't think we have a #3 that equals Hillis.

Maybe stature but when Wilson stepped on the field everywhere he's been he's won the job quickly.

True. But Russel played three years at NC State (who had depleted depth chart when he arrived), and one year at Wisconsin (after they lost their starter). Scott turned away from the likes of NC state when chose us over Maryland and Rutgers. Still early. All good discussion. With Harris and Etling on our depth chart, hopefully we don't get to find out more until next year or so.

You blew up the recruiting board last year as an "Insider" and knew nothing. Now you're trying to be an insider again? You read posts, releases, and then just guess. Give us something only an insider would know. You can't. Same poster with nothing else. Feel bad for your attempts.

Guice is not better in the slot than our top receivers. I like that 3 play series that you mentioned but the first play has to work to expand it. It could work but having those two almost certainly draws the defense's attention. They could run decoy stuff but the defense is already paying close attention. I can see using it in one game but unless we change to a spread rushing attack, i dont see the point of wasting practice time on a gimmick formation, for more than a week

I agree, but it's not gimmicky. And I'm not suggesting that he replaces a slot per se. It just a package. You could use Guice at any of your skill positions (except QB). Move him around. Make them account for him. I do agree that it's gimmicky if you're not going to build off it. But there is a balance between spread and power concepts. Hopefully we have the right recipe this season.

Bc everyone is getting a hard on for madden tactics. These ideas can work every now and again but taking one blocker or receiver away to sub a guy who does the same thing as the other rb is redundant, no matter how good they are at rushing.

This is not brain surgery. See: 1. Ohio State 2. Clemson 3. Louisville 4. Oregon and oh YESSS 5. Bama (2nd half 2015).

It's not a waste. It's a modern offense.

Guice will not play in the slot.

Don't think of like a traditional slot. Think of it like a H-Back, or Wing. Not necessarily tradition slot alignment.

I was never a recruiter board/insider. Your full of shite and making shite up. I know players on the team and faculty members. I only know what's happening when they get to Lsu not before. Gtfo

So you want that Arkansas offense? That's not the offense you're getting. A well executed Air Coryell Pro offense has more potential than practicing the Arkansas spread option that Gus Malzahn made. Great defenses are going to require precision passes to set up the run. Practicing running horizontally isnt going to beat great defenses.

Horizontal to get the edge yes. Like Bama in the 2nd half. That along with short underneath passing game softened us up and helped Henry get lose.

You were run off this board before because of your "inside" info. People called you out because you were wrong. You ran and people made jokes about you. Nothing has changed.

Nobody ran me off this board.
I'm still here.
I know your Bama alter.
You don't know shite about football. You need to post less.

I'm sure you're a kid who wants to feel important. I have no fault with that.

Bama alter? LSU/Duke 1958 was my first game. Four years old. Played QB for Bastrop High, signed with Southern Miss, teammates with Ray Guy, transferred to LSU as a strong safety, sucked at it. Brad Davis was my roommate.

Bama alter? Please, child.

guice is truly this good...I'm going to be so pissed if miles and cam can't figure out how to get them both in the field and use them ala Felix Jones/McFadden

Well those teams never won the sec and rarely threw the ball. That doesn't go over well in this board.

Wouldn't care if we through 10 times a game as long as we can throw when we need to. This has been the problem.

Well thats a little silly. Please explain how both of them being on the field helps. Explain by talking specifics.

Not silly at all. Use both backs to create confusion for the defensive personnel packages. With Guice as the second back you can switch formations - Guice as receiver or as RB - depending on if the defense brings in an extra DB.

I could have written your entire post without any sources - which is exactly what you did

Chalk's emergence is NOT why TJ left. TJ was moved below every receiver, not just Chalk. There was some sort of behavioral issues there - at least that's how it appears.

Me, me, me! Hey guys, can we take a break and talk about DALSU for a bit?

Notice how someone else started a thread, and he jumps in because he's not the center of attention?

Could be who was blocking, or if Valentine was in front of him, but I doubt he regressed, the second team Defense could be as good as the first unit, so....

I think it's an indication that our D is extremely difficult to figure out. We have seen this exact same thing happen many times at many schools from Aranda.

Too small to play in the SEC. Will be the next Russell Shepard. Will never take a snap at QB in an SEC game for LSU.
