No, they knew it wasn't worth the time dealing with a selfish a-hole and his attorney, so they gave you what you wanted like a whining child.

Exactly. It wasn't that you could win. It's that you have a lawyer on personal retainer and the publicity of a lawsuit is the last thing they wanted. But hey, the law "works" for people like you.

You also probably call the cops if you see a black family in an old car who got lost and wound up in your neighborhood.

And you're probably the kind of person who gets all pissy every time you hear about the ACLU threatening legal action if a poor person's rights are violated.

To be fair to him, these hotels don't give two shits about the flood victims. They simply had some corporation come in and offer to pay twice the rates and the hotel couldn't pass up the opportunity to make a dime. This isn't some gracious act by the hotels.

But, I still wouldn't fight it.

Agree

Not many victims are staying in hotels at this point. I know a shite ton of people who were flooded and they are all living elsewhere at the time. I'm sure some victims are, but not many. This is a result of companies renting out blocks or even the entire hotel. Plenty of rooms are empty, especially on weekends when some crews go home.

OP seems like a dick, but he has a legit point.
