Brennan really didn't impress me in his LIMITED action. Hopefully a big offseason with some vet WR's and a reimagined scheme can guide him to another great season for us.

Because he was put in at the end of games that were already won. I'm sure he was told not to take any chances.

Next year he will have to produce rather than maintain. He'll do fine.

You are wrong and Brennan will be good. We’re all spoiled by Burrow but he is gone now and Brennan, any other year, would excite the shite out of most fans and would normally have fans speculating that he’d get us another trophy or two.

Be patient and enjoy this offseason while he gets even better.

We have virtually no video to review. Mop up duty with the second team OL and receivers isn’t a fair judgement. Should we shite on Emery over all the times we got stood up in the backfield because of lookout blocks by the backups?

Myles Brennan Highlight Video

One thing I liked was in the earlier games, you can see him having the nervous feet constantly. Then when it switched from the Vandy (I think) to the A&M game, that was completely gone and he seemed much more relaxed in the pocket.

People need to realize that Burrow was rare cat and possibly once in a lifetime QB for LSU. Have you seen any QB with more accuracy in the last 10 yrs that had so many attempts. Not too mention the tough attitude and desire to be perfect, which permeated the entire offseason.

So comparing Brennan to Burrow is going to leave many disappointed because Burrow was a rarity.

With that said, Brennan looks pretty darn good. He has good accuracy, strong arm, and was very good and making decisions quickly. He was putting the ball in the right spots on the short to intermediate routes. He had very nice pocket presence.

If LSU continues to operate with 45 pass attempts with the same playbook, I think he will do very well and we will have a shot at beating anybody.

I hope Brennan has Joe's work ethic in studying teams and becoming a master at his position and strives for perfection. I pretty sure he has learned somethings from Joe in that.

Couple of thoughts.

1. Stop comparing him to Joe

2. Not sure why they released a highlight video of mop up duty.

3. You are kidding if you dont think he has a cannon.

I have no idea how good he will be but I dont doubt his arm strength AT ALL

Brennan throws a beautiful long ball.

Spring Game 2019
1:45 mark. Had trouble finding the normal angle.

Troy 2017
4:50 Mark. Effortless 50 yd pass.

All the pieces are there. Just get smarter, stronger, and learn to read defenses!

Did you think we would try to run the score up on teams?

Like "yeah, let's throw deep!"

Brennan was in clean up duty, why would he throw downfield?

I agree with all of this...
1. Can’t compare the two
2. Brennan has a strong arm and quick release...he is deceptively elusive as well
3. He has studied the offense and put in his time...should be prepared
4. We have plenty of weapons to help him
5. If the line holds up like I think it will, we will have a darn strong season at quarterback and on offense, it just won’t be historic...which is pretty tough to do...lol!

Why would you expect Brennan to be throwing deep balls when we're up by 3-4-5 TDs?

He was put in when we were up by 40. That’s why there were no down the field shots.

Decision making will be his only question coming into next season. How fast can he process? In his limited mop up duty, he has thrown some balls that seemed to be pre-determined on routes the DB won. I have confidence that those plays will regress with reps and confidence.

in Joe’s first year as a Tiger, our all world receivers dropped A LOT of passes. In the off-season the story goes Brady fixed that by requiring all receivers to catch 10k balls thrown by a qback or juggs machine. Presumably many were thrown by Burrow and Brennan. I assume Brennan and his rcvrs will be doing similar amount of throwing this off season. I think Brennan looks great in the 2019 highlight reels floating around. And don’t forget Biletnikoff and Marshall are allowed to get even better too and they (and Jefferson caught) anything thrown up in their direction in Joe’s second year. Palmer, McMath and Arik will arrive in the starting lineup and they all bring outrageous talent. I’m cautious but when you throw in an Oline w tons of big game playing time from last year and our freak show stable of running backs I think theres plenty reason to be optimistic about next years offense.
