I think you take the tiger "rant" (rant being a key word here) too seriously. You really get disproportionately bent out of shape at any opinion that is any less than "LSU HAS BEST PLAYERS EVARRR!"

Yeah, that's it.

wouldn't have been returned for nearly as far had there been legal blocking on the return.
I'm well aware that there should be competition. But the game plan was to give him "safe" 1-2 man options in the passing game to protect the new QB. I thought that was fairly obvious.
He has a lot to learn, but the lack of passing game was not entirely his fault.

Ftr, to the OP's post. I watched his jr and sr highlights. Kid has game. I'm surprised no area school (ULL, ULM, McNeese, etc) game him a look.

Is it true that LSU fullback Connor Neighbors was a walk on?

sure it was. He is too young/hasn't advanced enough to read complex defenses, so they took the options away.

Same thing they did with JJ and 2012 ZM, which is why many tiger fans are a little apprehensive of the offense next season.

I don't get it I guess.

All I've said was that Hatch and JJ were not really much different in terms of QB effectiveness. I don't see why that's so outrageous to people.

I also don't see why saying that STATISTICALLY contributing 51 yds and a pick 6 is not very good and that Bergeron probably could've put up those numbers.

That's not to say that AJ won't be great or improve, but in that game, I'd say a walk on could have put up similar numbers.

THIS

And, if all he ever does is throw extra passes to let the WR's, TEs, and RB, practice their routes and catching...or play scout QB to help the defense prepare for a similar opponent, then he will have contributed quite a lot (and infinitely more than any of these asshat critics ever did) to LSU football.

Welcome aboard and congratulations to the young man!

Brandon is now a walk-on at LSU. Bergeron (6’3”, 195)

If he can compete for playing time that's great. It only makes the position stronger.

However, there is probably another motivation: learn Cam Cameron's offense and carry that knowledge with you into the future for potential coaching jobs.

The people that say he has no chance to play know nothing about Football. Brandon has a great chance of playing at LSU. He set records in HS and College. While playing at STM, he lead them deep into the playoffs his last 3 years. That was at 5A and 4A his senior season. He set School and Conference records in College and is the #2 ranked QB in JUCO. He was recruited by big schools out of HS and and has numerous offers right now. LSU always wanted him to come as a preferred walk on. The big reason everyone should pull for him is that he has always loved LSU and bleeds Purple and Gold!!!

So it's his fault that he's young?
Got it.
Moving on.

No, of course not. But it is his fault for taking so many sackss or running right into them when given time to throw.

All I said was it isn't hard for a walk on to put up the stats AJ did. That doesn't say anyting about his ability, as we haven't seen enough to know whether he's the QB who can lead a 99 yd td drive, or the guy who got rattled in the bowl game.

He was a 2 star in last years class and had offers from McNeese and Memphis.

I mean it's not like our last star QB was a Juco transfer from Kansas or anything...

I haven't really posted anything that negative on the rant in a long time. I felt I've been positive aside from my DUI rant, which had nothing to do with LSU players.
