I haven't seen or heard of anything about Josh Smith, and following his Twitter, it does not seem like he has spoken about signing at all either. The only tweet of relevance to the draft is him thanking ADup for all he has given to the program.

His slot is $1 million so I am assuming he signs before August 15th but he is also one of the last players in the 2nd round to sign. The others were in Omaha like Logan Wyatt or a few Michigan players so they don't count cause they haven't worried about signing until the season ends.

Bottom Line: Does he return? If healthy, he will be a first rounder and will get paid, regardless of being a Senior, because of the rules in place for the top ten rounds. Does he risk it? Or will he sign?

I am just looking for what the room thinks, not trying to start anything up

He will sign
His agent has to do his job and get him whatever he can get him
The difference is small at this point
Yankees have signed most of their picks already and it will get done

Magnum got a 20K bonus when he has a slot value over 400k? I find that very hard to believe.

Seniors signing for less than 10% of the slot value happens literally every year.

Only players left on board for Yankees are Demarco (playing with Vandy in Omaha) and Leiter who is a Vandy signee.
I'm sure Yankees will take another run at Leiter but he's going to Vandy.

Damn, I knew seniors got screwed but I didn’t realize it was that drastic. Seems like they need a revamp of the system

I can't remember who the poster was who said every day that Hess needed to return because he could go earlier in the draft and get paid a lot more, despite not having leverage. Was that Sharkfin?

The entire MLB compensation system is trash, but they aren't likely to change it any time soon.

The fact that the minor league players are not unionized is absurd. Those are the players who have the most at stake in rookie salaries, yet they're not even at the table for discussions.
