You can’t compare the 2016 situation to this year for several reasons.
1) The debacle at the end of the 2015 season with firing Les, hiring Jimbo , and then the reversal of both severely reduced any credibility Alleva had in the coaching community.
2) he handled 2016 even more poorly, if you can imagine, then 2015. He publicly announced his top two candidates even though their seasons had not yet finished. This ended any sliver of credibility that remained in the coaching community. Prospective coaches don’t want their names released , unless they donor themselves for leverage purposes.
3) Three coaches in a row have now won NC, with two being absolute idiots
4) SW is highly respected within coaching circles as a coaches AD and known to be not only supportive , but willing to make sure you have all resources necessary to compete. He is extremely professional in his business dealings.
5) Top 10 resources exist
6) Top state for recruiting
7) No in state competition
8) Did I mention that the last three coaches all won NC, with two being absolute buffoons?

Yeah, the LSU situation is all sunshine and rainbows.
Difference being, we have an AD and fan base that cares about football. USC not so much anymore

People in coaching circles know that if Ed Orgeron can win a national title here than it’s a pretty damn good set up in terms of having all that you’d ever need.
Ed Orgeron for Gods sake.
Ed Orgeron for Gods sake.

Pate say many people haven't moved on USC opening yet, because of #LSU situation.
Yeah yeah we hear this about every LSU opening then we end up with ULL’s coach

Made it to the playoffs three straight years, that's about all you can ask for. Personally I think the talent advantage and recruiting ground at LSU could put him over the edge.
They recruit at a very high level in Norman, not far from LSU, and he still has horrific defenses and gets embarrassed in the postseason. It's not like he'd be going from a mid-major talent level to LSU, they pump out NFL players.
ETA:
Current 24/7 roster composite has them 6th and LSU 5th with them having more 5* players than us on roster.
He loses 2-3 games every single year in the SEC. I just don't see him taking us to another title.

Meanwhile, USC has been a dumpster fire since Pete Carrol left.
Their current situation is precisely related to the power given to Pete Carrol.
They've overreacted and now the HC has no power, and the Athletic Dept is a shite show. While LSU has problems, nothing close to this.

USC is a much worse dumpster fire than us.

I'd be completely fine ending up with ULL's coach and so would a lot of major programs.

If everyone and their mother wants the job you don’t end up with ULL’s coach

ULL's coach is going to be and has been very sought after the past couple of years. Just because he currently coaches at ULL doesn't mean he's not a hot commodity. Almost every great coach started out somewhere like that.

So, you think Lincoln Riley would be a bad hire?
Yes. May as well get Kiffin if that’s the case. You’d win the same number of games in EXACTLY the same manor but at least Kiffin would be funny doing it.

K State always has inferior talent, but they are disciplined, well coached and can stay within themselves for a game plan.

Are your saying OU doesn’t have vastly superior talent to Kansas State and Iowa State?
No, dumb frick. I’m saying it’s football and shite happens and there haven’t been that many losses that could be considered “bad”. But you’re the board’s resident stupid frick so I don’t anticipate you understanding that.

He was handed the keys to a brand new Mercedes. That program is still a Mercedes, only slightly older. He has done anything there that Stoops wasn't.If it weren't for the conference they play in, OU would be slightly above average.
