You must’ve missed the part where I said the two other guys must’ve been playing damn good. Most people would see playing damn good as a good thing and not a bad thing.

Playing in Tigers stadium, playing SEC football and playing with teammates since 2017 could hardly be considered irrelevant. imo

Brennan is a 60% passer. That isn’t terribly accurate for college football

Exactly. Daniels has a higher % on 10x the starts. So if you really believe it’s an “accurate veteran” BK wants, that ain’t Brennan.

I agree, if Daniels starts we’re in trouble.

I still believe they brought in Daniels because they want a guy who can make plays outside the pocket. And if you are Daniels, why go somewhere you're likely to be the 2nd or 3rd team guy after being a starter for 3 seasons?

Brennan is a great thrower. But I think we would all agree he, more than any QB on the team, needs the protection to hold up in order for him to have any success. Daniels, and to a lesser extent, Nussmeier, can get away from pressure that Brennan simply can't. If you are not terribly confident in your OL (which it doesn't appear LSU is considering they feel they still need to add a player to two there), can you really be confident the least mobile of your QB's can fully succeed?

It may ultimately turn out that Brennan, despite his weaknesses, is the best option considering Daniels may be too inconsistent throwing the ball and Nussmeier may be too risky. But I don't think anything is even close to being decided.

Its just another man's opinion that has no bearing on who will be the starter when the season starts.

Nobody knows shite other than who was seen taking the first snap with the 1st team offense last Saturday. That could change, but that's all we know at the moment.

So, what we’re really saying is that MB, on campus since 2017, can’t separate himself from two guys who have played in a grand total of four games for LSU.

You forgot to add, separated from one guy who has started for three years.
So a guy who has never been a starter, Nuss, has outperformed two players that have been starters, one for three years and the other for three games.

The way you worded it made it seem like more of a bad thing, but ok I get what you're saying.

Fact of the matter is that Nuss has played with most of the guys on offense just as much, if not more than Myles has. And Daniels is a 3 year starter. This is all with a brand new coaching staff. Myles doesn't have as much of a head start as you are making it out to be.

Interesting take. Not a good one but Interesting.

JP is top tier in national media guys, but i have to still say Daniels takes the spot. I will 100% bank on Daniels improving his passing game enough to be consistent. The guy isn't so far off that it's impossible, a lot of people are overreacting to spring practices where you're learning the playbook, fixing you footwork problems, and trying to develop chemistry with your receivers. With that on top of his run threat, years of starting experience, and the RPO game, he's my bet that I'd actually put money on.

The Nuss hype is annoying because I know he won't play like that in a live game. If we are trying to prep him for next year, that's one thing, but I can bet you he's going to get happy feet and go into gunslinger mode once it's live action and DCs are throwing all kinds of things at him.

I can see Brennan as the starter, but damn I think we'd be limiting our explosiveness then.

Yep, all the Jayden Daniels Jock Sniffers will be triggered, offended, angry and Crying In Their Wheaties. ( )

They want their fast and athletic Running Back Playing Quarterback in that starting lineup, no matter what. (No matter if that Running QB BS will absolutely not work with any consistency in the Southeastern Conference)

Even if Brennan could throw the ball on target everytime he still is a liability back there. Takes way to long to get rid of the ball, and is a statue back there. He is basically a poor man's Mettenberger. Remember Mettenberger also had a better line and obj and Landry.

Based on 2020 which is the only comparable year Jayden Daniels was only a 58% passer in the no defense Pac 12.

I don't understand the people who think he is just going to run away with the job.

Also, the people on here who think kelly promised him the job.

Well, I’m glad I could entertain you coach. Perhaps you could provide some rationale, rather than just complaining, as to what’s going on in the LSU quarterback derby.

Miles always touted QB’s that made plays with their feet aka Harris/Jennings. I rather not see any form of that type of QB again.
