Trust me, the defensive assistants know what’s going down. They know they’re going to have to interview with the new cat if they wanna stay. If BK wants a solid DC he knows he’s going to have to give him control on that side of the ball. He however can recommend people as well as he has final approval on all coaches the new DC wants to bring in.

Yeah I’ll add that you’re a moron and that whoever told you that doesn’t know shite. But you keep on being you acting like you know what BK is gonna do because your mailman told you LMAO!

I’ve seen some posts that might suggest House stays next season. However that seems unlikely now. Seems like with what Pate is saying and some rumors on X/Twitter that House will be gone 100 percent.

Im not his biggest fan, but Pate knows the sport inside and out and has connections everywhere now. He has a big audience and a lot of respect in the sport, so staff people feed him info from all over. If he is saying it that definitively, it’s probably a done deal. And that’s great news.

We better be on the market for a new DL, CB, and Safeties coach as well.

A new DC isn’t tying themselves to anyone on a staff that turned in this performance. Cain could have made a case before he left, but Steeples and Cooks just don’t have anything to stand on.

Lindsey never had a chance, but I doubt he will get one unless the new DC knows him.

A new DC will bring in their own staff.

I’m not arguing with you, but is this something that Pate is just saying needs to happen (like the rest of the fans) or does he actually have a sources/insiders that have told him this? Genuinely curious

No way in hell he is retained for next year. Anybody that claims he is or has sources is full of shite.

Pate does get inside info from a lot of coaches, but there’s no way to know specifically if he got this from someone inside at LSU. That said, he’s big on protecting his reputation as a straight shooter. His tweet was definitive that LSU has been looking for a new DC for weeks and I don’t think he would put that out there if he didn’t have what he feels is reliable info from a good source.

There’s no way to know if this will be right, but Pate is not one of those media guys for wish casts or makes shite up for clicks. If he says it, he believes it.

No he won’t be retained I mean cmon man this is LSU and that defensive product isn’t up to standard (Cannon told me so lol). He will be relieved of his duties possibly Saturday because of the early kick or Sunday. The assistants know if they wanna stay they need to interview with the new cat and BK has final approval. Also I’d bet Woody just might be more hands on this time since he writes the checks. Plus BK could recommend some to stay but if you want a top notch guy I mean like Billy Parcels said IF YOU WANT BE TO COOK THE MEAL YOU HAVE TO LET ME BUY THE GROCERIES!!

BK made a horrible decision to appoint House as DC. Prior to LSU, House had 3 years of DC experience with 3 different teams. His record as DC (prior to LSU) is 16-16

That’s easy in hindsight, but he also had the number 6 defense in the FBS at UK in 21. That’s why he was hired. But Kelly should have moved on to a different style of DC when he struck out on Brad White first.

I'm confident Kelly has been on the phone. Candidates who are currently employed wouldn't want their interest known.

Just wondering what some of you DC want-a-be's defense would have looked like had you inherited the dumpster fire House did? Would YOUR AMAZING defense won the SEC West last year?

Last year isn’t the issue. It’s the inability to follow it up with anything resembling a competent FBS unit this season. It’s the total lack of progression and now regression we’ve seen.

His protege Brad White has done just fine ranking consistently better than House last year or this year with similar or less talent than we currently have. That alone tells me House isn’t as good enough at developing and teaching players, or adjusting to them. If he can’t be consistently good to great, he can’t be DC here.
