Add 1 to each of those maybe.10 wins should always be a measure of success at minimum.

no. Les averaged 10.3 wins per season. In his last full season, he won 9 games.

The goalposts are shifting for the ignorant coonass steering the ship now.

7 wins is not ok. We were sold that Orgeron was going to elevate the program. That would a regression if they only win 7. 7 wins and he should be fired. No if and or buts.

He also said that in 2016 LSU didn’t have the talent to match up with the best in college football.....

Just wow.

Who is “we?”

The Orgeron hire was one of the biggest blunders in the history of LSU athletics.

This didn't happen overnight. It was 5 years in the making.

Yes, but we fired him too late.

I think he’s having a different conversation than you.

From a pure coaching perspective, you can evaluate how well O did based on wins.

That’s very different than saying it meets the expectations of the program long term.

8 wins would indicate a slightly above average coaching performance IMO.

Regular season wise, I say add one win to that and you're looking better. 9 wins with a chance for 10 in the bowl game has to be viewed as a step up.

Spin team working those expectations down. Not a good sign for the season.

I know right? Two and a half years in, and 8 wins with yet another loss to Bama is a "success". Isn't that part of why Miles was fired in the first place?

No no. According to the Otard Club talking points, Miles was fired because he refused to change the offense. So if he had changed his offense to an air raid offense and still went 8-4, he would have kept his job.

Or the more likely case. We just have vastly more talent than most of the teams on our schedule. State, OM, Arkansas, OOC games should almost always be wins. Sure, there are exceptions where you lose to these teams occasionally. A&M, Auburn and Florida we should beat more often than we lose to them, but they should still be able to beat us rather frequently. Any other team from the east except Georgia that we draw in a year should be an automatic win. Georgia should be a 50/50 game. Alabama should be a 40/60 game. We should win 2 out of 5 games against them for sure.
