Just got an update from ESPN saying Mickey is leaning toward the Draft.

2nd round.....Maybe.............. Barring injury, he would be a no doubt1 st rounder next year with the talent that LSU will have next season.. This offense will be stacked with Simmons coming in.. Mickeys stock would improve bigtime. But hey se ya fella.

Knows Ben Simmons is going to come in and crush the SF position for LSU.

Yeah, he probably won't get drafted even, much less a first rounder.

What's so stupid about it? Was Justin Hamilton also stupid? He'll get to travel to Europe and play basketball for a living at 10x the starting salary of your average LSU grad. Some of you people are delusional. It's clear that Mickey hasn't been in his comfort zone recently, seeks like he needs a change of scenery.

Uhhh no but Hamilton was a 7'0 which is always gonna be some value at the end of an NBA bench. Mickey is an undersized player who needs to get a lot better offensively to ever make the league.

This is full of

Hamilton got drafted 45 overall. Mickey isn't even on most radars anymore.

10X the starting salary? So Jordan Mickey will go and make roughly 400k a year in Lithuania....

And lastly, his comfort zone? He got lazy, got hurt, and practically took 6 weeks of the season off. I'm not gonna blame the game solely on him, but if he leaves just to not get drafted, that's shite

He could also get hurt and kill his stock. Big risk, little reward for minimal stock improvement

Let's hope he realizes what a mistake it would be for him. He's not ready.

He will not be "more ready" by staying at LSU.. he is a tweener.. if he can make a team either by draft or free agent, he will learn infinitely more at NBA practices than he will ever learn over a 30 game season at LSU.

I would leave if i was Mickey. Playing in Europe can be pretty awesome. And he will make ok money.

He'll likely be in the same position next year.

I don't envy him. Tough decision to make. If he's realisic and knows he will have to go to Europe or play d league for a while then I hope he does and realizes his dream. Would be great to have him back for another year. But best of luck to him making this decision.

In the D-League, players make between $12,000 and $24,000 for a season. Teams often have long rides in between games and don't always stay in first-class hotels. In Europe, most players make a starting salary between $65,000 and $100,000, often untaxed.

Try again, bro. It's a stupid decision.

I don't get the logic behind the thought process of playing with more talented players will make scouts forget the glaring holes in Mickey's game.

Scout #1: Mickey still doesn't really have a defined position in the league and his ball skills are atrocious.
Scout #2: Yeah but he played with Simmons last season....so first rounder now.

Now a guy like Martin with more NBA potential in general likely benefits from playing on a more talented team.
