I just got a kick out of how all these "Team Sweep" clowns kept saying they'd get our starting QB cleared for Oregon, my comment is really tongue in cheek

Team Sweep is and has always been a joke. I just use it to get certain posters all riled up.

Quite possible this is the situation. It isn't the JJs place to do BRPD's work for them. I imagine they have been advised this by counsel.
Bad situation, but the honorable thing to do.

is the consensus that the kicker(s) must definitely be on the team? Isn't it possible it could be some hangers-on or friends or just some people in the parking lot who took exception to the (alleged) racial slurs being bandied about? What would happen in all of this if players were somehow involved in the fight (taking swings/etc) but the actual kicking was done by a non-player?

If you go back and watch the video, the kicker calmly walks up and kicks someone on the ground and there is what appears to be a female standing at the feet of the person on the ground looking directly at the kicker. From the crappy video, it would appear that this female would have the best view off the kicker and be the most likely one to provide a positive id.

Now if you think back to the days following the incident, there were a few posters that seemed to have more knowledge of that night than just internet hearsay and rumor mongering. These individuals would not be mistaken for JL supporters or JJ haters, based on their posting style, and they were steadfast in their belief that JJ was not the kicker but that it was an LSU football player. In fact, the Motion for Dismissal was the first time that I saw claims that the kicker was not an LSU player and that no LSU players were involved in the fight.

I am pretty much convinced that JJ was not the kicker but beyond that I don't know and we probably won't ever know for sure. It looks like the GJ could drag on for another 2 weeks and by then the season will be basically halfway over. I have know knowledge of the legal system, so I can't guess on when JJ could be cleared. At some point it seems that it would be in JJs best interest to redshirt and come back next season with the opportunity to play his full senior season. However, I think it would be best for the LSU football team if JJ was available as an option at QB at some point this season.

Best of luck to JJ, if he is truly innocent and

My belief is that our DA is working harder to protect his job than he is to do his job.

1) This is true
2) LSU students are non-factor in EBR elections
3) There were 4 victims. Quit focusing on Lowery.
4) The other victims were not 'drunk', nor harassing women in the bar. Their parents are pushing this, and can influence elections in EBR.
5) I doubt if Moore attends the Grand Jury
6) 90% chance they will indict, depending on who the ADA is.

Jefferson and Johns have only been implicated in the battery of Lowery. That's why he is the focus.

Do you know who these victims are?

He attended yesterday.

i truly doubt JJ is doing this. It wouldn't make much sense at all. If anything, a younger, inexperienced player would have taken the fall for him. If this kind of scenario would have taken place

What did the BRPD ever do in this case that would make you think that they would even acknowledge Jefferson pointing the finger at someone else?

Any Tiger Rant posters on the East Baton Rouge Grand Jury?

Thought so!

This entire matter has been taken out of Les Miles hands and will be dealt with by the LSU Administration. They will dictate to Les what he can and can not do! It's that simple.

"It's not me, He was a good kid" defense will not get it this time. Four people injured, two very bad will cause this to go to trial, either criminally or civilly.

Jefferson was a lock in this case from jump ( by the BRPD & the media). Let's not get the idea that BRPD would have let Jefferson go in this investigation

This matter was never in Miles' hands.

LSU doesn't give two shits about civil claims. If the GJ returns with a "no true bill," Jefferson is back with the team that day.
