Like I said earlier. Jefferson is a pretty damn impressive physical specimen.
But so was Vernon Gholston.

JJ's total score was 44, which is listed as "UDFA".
he was a "top performer" in his 40, 3 cone drill, and 20 yd shuttle times.
The report also lists his arm strength and accuracy on deep throws as strengths.
Short throw accuracy, decision making, and pocket awareness were listed as weaknesses.

quote:JJ was pretty impressive at the combine.
Then, I've seen people come here and say he scored towards the top of QB's.
So how did he do really at the combine?
Where are you getting that info from?
It won't be enough to get him drafted.
I'm just happy another LSU player is getting a shot at the big show.

Regardless , JJ has done more for LSU football than all these posters
Wrong.
Without J Lee in 2010, we lose to Tenn and Fla and problably bama. (Yes, JJ had a good game against bama in 2010) With those losses in 2010, and without J Lee in 2011, the perception of JJ would be way behind Booty at LSU.
He's the most overrated QB by a coaching staff in the history of the BCS era. AND a certain group of posters on this board.
Rest assured, there are plenty of posters that have done more for LSU football than JJ was ever capable.
Move on and wish him well.

Again, let JJ try to make any of those throws against a D. The windows JJ needs to get a WR the ball don't happen often in the NFL.

the discussion had nothing to do with JJ specifically and was a generalization of the combine. if you are trying to tell me that the combine (and by this i mean the drills, not the interview) means more than what the player has accomplished on the field, then save it. You wont convince me.
Did you even read the rest of my post? Of course game performance is the most important. But draft evaluations are not that simplistic.
Game evaluations can drop players lower on draft boards and combine performances can move them up. Player evaluation is a lot more detailed than just looking at game film.

He looks the part. He practices well.
He plays poorly.
If, by some miracle, he makes a team and plays well. . .a discerning eye will fall upon Les Miles.

You still going by the pre-combine number?

Posted on 2/29/12 at 9:13 pm to EarthwormJim
brah you started your statement off with this
which was so far off of what i was talking about, i honestly didnt bother reading the rest.
however
this WAS my point. the poster i first replied to in this thread was disputing this.

that was the number on nfl.com as of about 3 minutes ago. my list of strengths and weaknesses came from the same write up, all of which i linked.
if you have a beef, take it up with nfl.com

Me too.
Whether you liked him or not, I am going to wish him the best because he wore an LSU jersey for years.
Crazy, I know.

Game performance is an important point of evaluation.
However, NFL coaches like to think they are better than college coaches. If they think a player got some bad coaching, they may take a chance on the kid as a project.
Game film is an important tool, but even that has varying perspectives. It all depends on what the scouts think are the problem areas.
Some people draft chiefly on film, others don't.

What if said poster is a big money donor? Then he's probably done more than JJ breh

Wouldn't it be some shite if JJ makes a roster and turns out to be a decent backup?
God I'm glad he's gone.
