Doesn’t sound implausible, but how would Vilma know?

You would be more credible if you didn’t hate Coach O. You do and you aren’t.

And beat the sec west champ after spotting them 20. Hardly a sign of a team who has given up on their coach.

There are plenty of people around the program who don’t buy into O, and perhaps a few players. But if you can give O credit for anything, is that the players will go to war for him.

Perhaps there are a few players, especially guys that still feel loyal to Miles, but by and large O’s players believe that he can get it done and want to play for him. That isn’t and has never been the issue with him. The issue is whether or not he’s competent enough to make decisions as a leader that put those players in positions to win, not if they want to play for him.

This really isn't news. They had a players' only meeting to put everything on the table. They admitted that some were probably still going to be sour but it was all put out there and addressed. While the focus was the QBs transferring out, the meeting was about the bigger picture of buying in.

Winning cures everything. You go into Jerry and thump The U, everybody starts to believe.

That's kinda where these comments lose me. From the beginning of last year through the first 20 minutes of the AU game the team was mostly abysmal (relative to LSU's talent). But they rallied and finished the season well (again, relatively). That doesn't happen if the coach doesn't have buy in from the team leaders.

That means they bought back in, that doesn't mean they won't quit on you again.

I’ve heard the same. I’ve heard there is not much confidence in O or SE.

I trust Joey Burrow and his choices more than second hand opinions.

Apparently he bought in

Well, these same sources told me O would be the coach four weeks before he was hired and posted such on the coaching changes board.

Same sources told me Jimbo was never really an option the year before that and I posted the same that year too.

They’ve also been wrong as well.

That said, I have reason to believe them.

Wonder what Kevin Mawae has to say about the goings on with Richt's program.

Been reading Bill J on the rant I suppose. ;)

I heard one SEC talking head say the team loves "O".

Its concerning because the players loved Archer also.

Look, this is nothing but talk right now.

We look shaky or lose to fricking overrated Miami, then we'll revisit this.

Vilma is an ESPN analyst for those who don’t know. He may or may not have sources, but I’m quite certain people here would be lapping up his comments if his “sources” were telling him O is a much better coach than he’s getting credit for, has built a championship program, etc.

Really, why should there be? What has either done in his career to warrant any kind of special respect?

Confidence in leadership comes out of respect for achievement.

No skins on the wall. Probably leads to not much confidence.

All that can change quickly with a few big time wins.
