I take it you haven't witnessed to the traveling, bad fouls, missed layups, turnovers and struggling free throw shooting that has plagued us off and on all season?

As for perimeter defense, Pressey, Carrera, McCrae (given that was a fluke performance) and even Fabyon Harris have been able to eat our lunch.

All not Johnny's fault.

What qualifies you to determine when our timeouts and substitutions should be made?

I personally don't have an issue, just playing devil's advocate for those that have questioned these things in numerous threads throughout the season.

I would some as well. LSU is still 2nd in the SEC at defending the 3pt line iirc.

Pressey, you mean the guy who shot 9-21 with 4 of his shots were drives to the basket coming at the end of the game where Hickey didn't want to foul him?

Carrera was not guarded well in the first game, but he's a PF with a good jump shot. LSU shut him down in the second game (going along with theme that we've improved dramatically as the year has gone on).

Fabyon Harris did have a good game, but I don't think you could use a 7-12 night (2-3 from 3pt) an example for bad perimeter defense.

Pressey drove at will throughout the game. In fact it was a blessing that he also shot so many threes. Now, as you said, Hickey may not have wanted to foul him but half the time he was just beat. This is not a knock against Hickey, I realize he shut down Sullivan.

Even if you discount Pressey's performance, you have to acknowledge Jabari Brown's 4-10 three point shooting. That's with probably 7 wide open looks.

change the losses to Auburn and South Carolina early to wins and LSU would be sitting at 10-5 in SEC play

I'd say this was his lowest point in the season. Tie game with the ball and 33 seconds left, Jones doesn't call time out and the final shot was a JOB 3-pointer.

The team is 8-4 since that point, though.

I think he has done great, but you must keep in the SEC is a very weak basketball conference. The question is How well would LSU fare against the ACC or the Big East?

Jones has more than exceeded anyone's realistic expectations.

The dude has been busting his arse recruiting and getting out guys ready. I love this hire. And the future is looking even more promising.

Considering many didn't want him I would say an A for sure. Surprised me.
