How many times did our entire frontcourt crash on the guy in the post only to watch him dish it to somebody else in the lane for the easy slam?

Were they not coached to do that? Did we ever adjust?

Teams with good coaches don't consistently turn over the ball like we do, regardless of talent (which we have plenty of).

Jones is responsible for the horrendous offensive performance tonight. All they do set half-arse screens, dribble around, and take bad shots.

I don't care if it's the players missing the free throws/turning the ball over...it's all about discipline and I can't remember the last team our basketball team had any. It's jones duty to instill it.

Whoa big guy, free throws made and half the turnovers ,we win this game.

BUT you Nailed the issue when u said "...it's all about discipline "

Our basketball team has None !!

Mickey is a Ball HOG, and not much of a team player.

Martin, needs some Coaching and maturity.

This game is on the players. There is no excuse for the turnovers and missed free throws. Sooner or later, you have to be accountable as players for what goes on between the lines

You people who say the turnovers and free throws aren't the fault of jones are in denial. Let me pose this question, when will losing because of those 2 things become his fault? This is the same shite we've seen the past two years.
Either recruit disciplined players to start, instill discipline, or hit the bricks.

I find the logic on the rant interesting, jones has 1 nit win and a great recruiting class in yr 3 and he's considered a coaching great, Miles has 2 national championship appearances, numerous wins, and consistent great recruiting classes, but is considered a coaching dolt.

The lack of logic on this board is sad. Johnny Jones has been here long enough for us to see what kind of coach he is. He has done nothing to show he is a coach that can get it done on a consistent basis. Sure the players missed FTs and turned the ball over, but good coaches adjust the game plan on both sides of the ball and win despite poor play. With the talent we have, there is no reason we should lose to a .500 team with a key guy not even playing.

Tonight was not Jones's fault.

I guess we're just unlucky and every player we get plays sloppy, undisciplined basketball. Can't blame jones, just bad luck

Its funny, other than the TO we should have taken with 3 seconds left in regulation, i thought the coaching was fine.

When gray, martin, and mickey dont play well, we are gonna lose. Those will be rare nights.

I agree. The game sucked and we shot ourselves in the foot.

Complete overreaction though.

I'm not melting. I am just pointing out that I don't think Jones is a good coach. Never said we were done, not making tournament, etc...

Maybe, but as discussed in another thread, if you chalk up a loss against Kentucky and if Florida finally puts it together, then LSU basically has to play about .667 ball against the rest of the SEC and in the tournament to be a 9-9 conference team that has a shot at the tournament.

We are better than most teams in the sec. I still think we finish with a winning record.

Im not counting any game as a win or a loss.

When you consider the fact the sec stinks that isn't saying much. Especially considering the conference may only get 3-4 teams in the tourney.

And everybody knows who two of those teams will be.

So LSU is in a logjam with 5-6 similar teams with similar resumes. They're all fighting for possibly two bids. And we just lost to Mizzou. That's a possible dealbreaker in our resume.

Well, for the 3rd straight year LSU has a decent OOC performace causing people to lose their minds and declare that "LSU basketball is back!!!" Then they come out in the SEC opener and look like shite, AGAIN! (For the second time in three years against a team that's going to finish at the bottom of the league). But hey, maybe Jones will wake up (literally) just in time to finish 9-9.

Give me one reason, other than blind optimism, to believe that history isn't going to repeat itself?
