If we had an 18-20K seat stadium, with the waiting list we have for season tickets, we would still sell them out and have thousands waiting for tics still.

what waiting list ? there isn't a big waiting list for baseball .. a number of first timers I know got bleachers season tix this year and last .. do you go to the baseball games ? do you REALLY think we could draw 18,000 with "thousands" waiting outside for tix ? Pretty much anyone that has gone out there and wanted to get in this season has so far ...

Haven't been since 08', I called about tix that winter before and was told sold out and waiting list of 10-15k, not kidding. How could I get that kind of bad info.?

Anyway, how many do you think we could get for a top flight SEC weekend series into the Box with a bigger stadium? Over 10k?

we had a top flight SEC series last weekend and drew a little over 10,200 and throngs weren't turned away either .. a bigger stadium and you'd have empty seats ... the new box is obviously bigger and people have figured out getting tix on a game by game basis isn't tough at all ... the ticket landscape in 2011 is far different than it was in 2008 in a smaller stadium ..

We would be able to draw more season tickets in a bigger stadium if they would do away with the TAF fee

Yea but much more for grandstand and champions club seats. That is where we would be able to sell more tickets if we added good seats, not bleacher seats

but how in the world could you expand the grandstand anymore ? there's just no way .. the only possible growth is another tier of bleachers down the lines (which would detract from the coziness of the park) or fill the gap between the RF bleachers and the batter's eye and the LF bleachers and the batter's eye (which would be the obvious best choice) ... the only other thing you could do is raise the scoreboard and install new LF bleachers to match the RF bleachers which would then hold a few more people ...

but the only thing you can do with the grandstand is possibly add two or three suites on the ends and that is it ..

Six suites will be added on each end of the existing suites after this season is over. Each new suite will have 12 seats so that will only add 144 to the capacity (12 seats X 12 new suites).

Ya. Be proud Marlins fans. You draw way more than LSU.

When is the last time you went to a Marlins game? Even though I am only a short distance to the stadium in that 'godsforsaken' place, it takes me 1.5 hours to get there.

... can't wait until next year though when the 'new' baseball stadium opens at former Orange Bowl site!

Wow .. 6 on each end ? They are going to be smaller than the existing ones I would assume .. Are they already spoken for ?

The suites have already been spoken for, that's why they changed the building phase, because they realized there was more demand for suites.

If I read correctly, there will be 3 suites on each side. But they will be divided by a partition wall, so in essence, 12 more suites.
