You have no idea what you’re talking about man.

My dad is likely older than you, flunked out of LSU for partying too hard, finished his degree elsewhere and retired with a great job at a Fortune 500 company. Your “no legit grad school would take him besides Southern/Grambling” comment is clearly you just being a piece of shite.

What will be weird is if he can stay on the field and be counted on for an entire season. I hope it finally happens for him

JFC dude. He isn’t trying to get into Wharton or Harvard. It’s not that hard to get enrolled in a masters degree program these days.

I’ve been a big fan of Emery especially coming out of St Aug as a highly touted 5 Star Recruit. This is his last shot to live up to the hype, and land himself a high draft pick. Let’s Geaux!!!

This man should be praised for graduating and being in grad school. I am very proud that this man is a Tiger. He is a great example of perseverance. Forever LSU.

He graduated from LSU and he wants to come back and play for the Tigers. All I know he is an LSU Tiger and we needed the depth in the RB room. Hope you have an awesome year JE. With our OL, the running game will be heavy early and often along with a deadly passing attack. We could be looking at another 40+ per game year. If the defense improves which I think it will, watch out for the Tigers in 2024!

I'll show my age by saying the first #44 I think of is Leroy Kelly with the Cleveland Browns, then Riggo...

Yeah, that's just not true. Grad schools don't care about your grades in high school lol. While important, your undergraduate transcripts are just one part of a grad school application. Recommendation letters, research/work experience, GRE scores, and your statement of purpose are all equally as important.

I was accepted to a stem grad program at an R1 school with a GPA "requirement" of 3.0 even though my undergraduate GPA was below that, since the other parts of my application were strong.

Sure, it's easier to get into grad school with a high GPA, but just because Emery has had grade issues in the past, it doesn't mean that he would have no chance of getting into grad school if he wasn't on the football team.
I can virtually guarantee John Emery would not be admitted to grad school at LSU if he were not on the football team.

I would also virtually guarantee he is in the MA in Liberal Arts program, which is the general studies of grad school, when no legit programs will admit you.

maybe standards these days have been lowered, have to include everyone, when I graduated (undergrad,) the scrutiny was that intense, hell, my employer had my college transcripts in their hand during the multiphase interview process, as did the military, but I guess I'm wrong because this is the rant

No you’re wrong because you’re full of shite. I got my graduate degree in 2002 (over 20 yrs ago), and none of that crap you said mattered back then. They did NOT look at any high school scores nor interview anyone, other than me. They were only concerned with my undergraduate grades and my GRE score.

Maybe instead of laughing at him, we should be happy for him that he turned it around, graduated, and is now in grad school

Happy for him if he earned it.

In today’s “everyone deserves college” world I’m skeptical.

And Burrow as a grad student was a joke too. He was enrolled to play football. As is Emery.
