There is a major positive for a 24 team playoff….. depending how they structure the games and locations, it will give a lot of these matchups that never happen, a real shot at happening.
It will also give fan bases opportunities to travel to game sites they’ve never experienced. Imagine Minnesota Gopher fans having a chance to experience The Death Valley in Baton Rouge, or LSU fans a chance to experience the Big House or Happy Valley….

No SEC needs to add a BIG 10 team for entertainment sake when we already play 9 SEC games no matter how bottom rung BIG 10 team it is. This isn't about playing better teams we already do that. For SEC teams it's about navigating a gauntlet schedule and having health when we need it.

With a 24 Team playoff you will 100000% see coaches benching players late in the season when they know they are making it in.

Not a concern
1.) teams can essentially have 2 bye weeks now that Week 0 games have been opened up to everyone.
2.) Teams will not sit players if you structure things correctly. You just have to incentivize finishing at the top of the rankings. The top 8 teams will get byes, which will basically be a 3rd bye week. As long as they re-seed the teams each round and have the top remaining team play the lowest remaining team in the tournament, there will a be a strong incentive to finish at the top of the rankings.
