That if we CFB goes to 24 game playoff field there are talks of SEC vs Big 10 game every year
Doesn’t effect us much as we always schedule a P4 team anyway, difference is be a Big 10 team
At first I didn’t like 24 game deal, but may be advantage to LSU or any SEC team
If in fact there is/are 3 loss teams that could compete for NATTY(I think there is/are) expanding to 24 helps

All I know is that with a 24 team playoff, it’s unacceptable for us to ever miss the playoffs

I think there will be problems & nobody will be happy until this is addressed:

1. Only one BYE in the regular season
2. Depth is much harder to build than it ever has been before (portal, NIL era)

With a 24 team field, I can see coaches becoming willing to trade a game here or there to keep guys healthy.

It sounds crazy, but it happens in the NFL all the time (especially toward the end of the season).

1.Maybe we'll finally see Michigan vs LSU

2. What about the SEC teams with annual ACC rivalries? So they're going to be playing 11 P4 games while many others just play 10 and two rent a wins? Having them go away sounds like a nonstarter but a bunch of rivalries have fallen by the wayside due to conference expansion/realignment. You don't think it'll happen to you until it does.

I don't care if it's a Big 10, ACC, or Big12 schools, but I like that all P4 schools have to have one P4 non-conference game

I'm looking forward to the Utah home and home and hope that doesn't get canceled.

This is actually why the 24-team playoff is bad. Or one of the reasons. And why this potential Big Ten/SEC opening week show down is also a bad idea and makes the 24-team expansion even worse. The novelty will eventually wear off.

We are seeing matchups we don’t normally see still, so it’s still fresh and cool. The 1st time LSU and Michigan play EVER? Will be a huge deal. The 2nd time likely will be too. But what about when we’re playing them for the 3rd time in 5 years? WE will care. THEY will care. But will anybody else unless it’s in the final or semi finals? These opening games will have no juice for anybody outside each teams’ fanbases. Because the outcomes won’t really matter. They’ll basically be exhibition games.

That is the fear of too much expansion. It dilutes the regular season as a whole by lowering the stakes for any individual game. It may take 3 or 4 years, may take 10. But regular season viewership is bubble that is eventually going to burst. Not because people won’t still tune in to watch their teams’ games, but because they will stop watching as much of the other teams’ games. They will wait till the playoffs. Just like they do for college basketball. And I can’t imagine a true college football fan wants it to turn into anything like that. But it’s coming.

Can’t wait for Nov 27 2030 and we are playing Arky while we are at 10-1 and we decide to roll the 3rd string qb out there for a 18 point loss.

It won’t feel like college football.

LSU already has P4 games scheduled against Houston in Houston (2027), home against SMU (2028), @ SMU (2029), @ Utah (2031), home vs Utah in 2032.

If the agreement requires a Big 10 team, what does LSU do?

NSU and UTSA are the other OOC in 2027
ULM and Southern in 2028
McNeese and Rice in 2029
Tulane in 2030
What game do they buy out in order to put in a Big 10 opponent? They can schedule one for 2030-2032, but would need all teams involved in an agreement to rework 2028-2029.

I completely disagree. The fact is, teams fly to most of their games now anyway. I would rather play Michigan than Arkansas. More schedule diversity, the better.
