I was watching this video the other day where this guy said something like, "if LSU doesn't get that int TD, Brossette's long TD, and Miami doesn't miss that FG, Miami wins this game". Well no shite. Take a 17 point swing away from "supposedly" equally matched teams and of course the other team wins. But I told him, do that and give LSU a TD on only one of those GL field goals, and we still win.

What if LSU didn't even show up? Maybe it would have been a different game! Maybe if we threw hail Marys every play, it would have been a different game. So dumb. Games are played with adjustments and things don't always pan out the way you plan but to cause turnovers and score those things called touchdowns is what usually wins...

We were more dominant than the score suggests

Frankly, if all of that doesn't happen, LSU doesn't go super-conservative for the entire second half.

Anyone who knows football realizes LSU did not dominate as much as the score would indicate, so Klatt is not plowing the field of innovative thought on this one.

One of the biggest issues with college football is the willingness of some coaches to enhance their team's statistical prowess and in doing so it reduces guys like Klatt to boxscore analysists. They see numbers and think that is the end game of any team. Putting up big numbers is cool but often it's not needed to win.

The end game should be to simply win and LSU won by more than two touchdowns

We dominated where it matters.

"dont turn the ball over"?

Another way to say that is
If LSU did not intercept so many passes.

Dillon is the worst WR that played in the game on Sunday... Are you kidding me? Chase and Marshall are leaps and bounds more talented and have substantially better hands. And don't bring up experience or youth because both run their routes like vets.

I kind of agree too. We won some games in 2011 like that.

I am not sure I completely agree with this statement. We were dominant in 2011. Our average margin of victory, excluding 1/9/12, was 27.9 pts. We won 7 games by 30 or more points and of those 7 games, 2 were 40+. The only game we did not win by double digits was the 9-6 Bama win.

All that means is we have room for improvement. If that happens and we are hitting on all cylinders, we’re going to kick the shite out of a lot of teams.

Hi Joe,

Do you realize LSU plays defense? Take a look - you might see dominance

klatt meant to say that LSU was as dominant, but he had a dick in his mouth so was misunderstood.

We beat Miami a lot like Alabama beat us last year. In that game, we had more yards of offense (Bama only 296), Alabama was just as bad on third down (5/14), and Hurts passed for less than 50% ....
BUT
Alabama had fewer penalties, no turnovers, played great special teams, they got up on us 21-3 in the third, and won field position which lead to them beating us by TWO TOUCHDOWNS.

Some of us LSU fans didn’t think Alabama “dominated” us. Did they? I guess it just depends on your perspective or your bias.

I had to go check the box score on that. Ha! Bama had just one penalty in that game.

No, because it was an 11-point game at half at Bama. No one would consider that domination. LSU was up 27-3 at the half on Miami and kneeled to run the time out at half. It was over at half. Bama almost turned it into domination in the 2nd half when they scored late in the 3rd quarter to make it an 18 point lead, but then LSU countered less than a minute later to cut it to 11 again. LSU was at least within striking distance. Miami was losing 33-3 in the 4th with LSU's 2nd string D in.

The problem with the if only game is the turnovers were not gifts, they were forced based on pressure...some penalties are forced based on the penalized team being beat in situations...
Also, two of Miami’s longest passes would have been incomplete IF the DB would have turned his head...they were right there....
The only thing you can take from that game is that we are significantly better than Miami. Period.

I really hate if-game bullshite from guys who should know better.
