I doubt it it is $1.8M per year. Maybe $1.8M for first 2 years.

Easiest two years of work in my life. Let my replacement do everything before I retired.

Perhaps inevitable OC role is wrapped into it, even if it is year after next. All part of the plan.

Brady still hasn’t called plays. Let him get another year of seeing how to call plays strategically and then let E retire as a God damned hero

He could certainly get that as a coordinator on the open market.

Why do you guys keep saying this? 450k is way more than he's ever made before and he has not proven that he is a coordinator by himself. I'm not insulting him and he's an amazing passing game coordinator but nobody's going to go out and pay him more than that for his first time as a solo gig.

Gets all uppity and thinks that I'm thrashing him I'm just saying that he's not going to be gone making 450k a year as a passing game Co-offensive coordinator

Co-OC at the very least.

With how well things are going this year I wouldn't be surprised if Ensminger returns and both act as Co-OCs.

I'm hoping Co-OC's for another year.

Then Ensminger stays on as an analyst for a couple years to coast into retirement and get off the recruiting trail.
same here.
quote:

Its been said that Ensminger is the one to put the play call in, but listens to suggestions on play calls every play from Brady, then decides if he agrees or not and calls whatever play he feels is best. I think he agrees a lot and calls the play Brady suggests and only occasionally overrides him.
Seems Brady is a real-time analyst and 'preps' the plays for E.

If E wants to attack the middle through the air on a particular play, Brady has the options at his fingertips:
- Play A: we've seen a weakness here
- Play B: we set this one up with prior play calls
- Play C: personnel on field and leverage lends itself to this

Then E picks A,B, or C... Brady adds it to the 'workflow' and later on Brady will be reminding him you ran Play B last series, they adjusted and now we have identified a weakness with this Play A. Around and around it goes.

It will be a done deal but 1.8 mill ? I doubt it. Prove it. Link? Signed paper. He will be retained at LSU no doubt about it.

Brady has learned under offensive coaches far superior to Ensminger. They hired Ensminger as an offensive coordinator, who only had failed experiences under his belt. Why wouldn't they take a calculated risk with a brilliant offensive strategist that can learn details from Orgeron and consultants? LSU has a great thing that just created the biggest offensive transformation that many people have ever witnessed. No one with a brain, would take a chance to let that pass without an extreme effort.

Not one offensive play this year was designed or drawn up by E...yet you think he was the play caller?

You get the award for biggest moron of the year

Eh, I doubt it. That kind of thing usually doesn't work. I can see Ensminger and Brady as co-coordinators for a year (if Ensminger needs another year for his pension), but even with as well as they work together, I can't see Ensminger wanting Brady as his boss. Inverting the boss-employee relationship usually causes friction, because it changes the nature of the relationship, but the people involved are already used to treating each other a certain way.

I don’t believe E had very much at all to do with this year’s offense. If he did...Brady wouldn’t be getting 1.8 mil per year..fact. I think it was just all for show. But it’s now gonna be the Brady show..and E will be riding into the sunset.

This would be in name only.

Look, unless what seems to be obvious, isn't actually what's going on, Joe Brady came in and in very short order implemented an offensive scheme that is pretty much the best in college football.

That means a few things:

* He's going to get paid in a similar way as our other top coordinators have been paid (1.8 seems right)
* He's going to be coordinator (and probably already is)
* Whatever has to happen with Ensminger simply has to happen. There is zero room for screwing up Brady's position here for Ensminger as loyal as he has been. This is a program defining hire.

I tried to explain what you said in another thread but you articulated it better. E going back to being a position coach doesn't make any sense.

It sounds good but doesn't work in real life.
