Yea lack of football revenue won’t be an issue for him at all.

I’m conflicted about your post and thread bc I want it to be true but you’ve proven yourself to be full of shite at the same time. Decisions decisions.

I think that's terrible timing. If/when O sinks the ship this fall and LSU needs to make a move to can him and hire a real head coach, that move will need to be made in November or December. If he's still around to hire the successor....yeah, screw that.

Yeah...that's not early enough to save the 2019 Football season and beyond.

why not just make it November of 2018...?

I think the entire thing sounds logical. Joe may be incompetent when it comes to closing a coach but he cant be dumb. He’s not sitting at home thinking O was a wonderful hire and that he’s going to do great things. Even if he thought that for second when he made the hire he saw what happened last year and KNOWS the wheels will come off. He’s also got to know that the shite storm is going to be HUGE. I like the news and think the time line could logically be sped up

Him going out in his terms is wholly dependent on the LSU football season. If LSU has three or more losses through mid-October, he’s gone anyway. He will not hire the next LSU football coach.

The further Joe Alleva gets away from LSU, the better for LSU.

And heck, that might have been the ploy all along. The natives (and BOS) were restless with Miles, who was still doing a decent (not great) job. Joe replaced him with the perfect choice to test the theory that "anyone can win 10 games a year at LSU". He gave his choice a contract that is respectable, all things considered, plenty of leeway, and with a buyout that by 2019 will be manageable if need be.

Lmfao oh the terrible hires were all a 3D chess level move to get someone else a chance to make a real hire. You must be on to something

You’re so freaking stupid. I know you’re desperate but damn don’t pop a blood vessel. Chapter two of LSU football’s nightmare is about to start. They’ll be nowhere to hide when it does. Keep the strong narrative because reality is a short time away

I'll be pretty damn pissed if Joe is still here come next spring. If football has the season that most are predicting, then Joe should be shite canned in Nov/Dec.

One of those deals where they announce it with effective date of whatever to give them time to transition and look for new AD.

If the concession deal with Aramark doesn't do him in, nothing will.

With that said, the meddling in football is always the downfall with LSU Athletics. Alleva did not have full control from the Miles debacle to the O hire. No way LSU let's him hire another football coach. If he's still here, it will be another Dean situation, they will tell him to go sit in the corner and get out of the way.
It's taken him 3 hires to possibly getting the men's basketball hire right and that was more Nunez connections.
The softball situation from Murphy to Torina ended up working out.
Only Joe could make the tennis coaching situation newsworthy with the former coach suing LSU.
He added beach volleyball but that's an intramural sport at best.
No way I want him anywhere near the eventual baseball replacement

Yeah, I think I needed sleep.

I'm better now

I do, however, imagine Alleva knew his time was tied to Orgeron the moment he considered hiring him. So if he was already planning on leaving in a couple years anyway, then the pressure's off a bit- go for the homerun, and if you don't get that get the bargain basement guy. Won't be his headache if O fails, and would look like a smart move if O somehow exceeded expectations.

All signs point to that and most Alums/Adult LSU fans that don't walk around with P&G pom poms sticking out of their rears know what's ahead.

We all want LSU to win an SEC Championship, but full well know how to recognize the dark storm clouds that are forming. All the cheerleading in the world aint gonna break up and clear out those thunderheads either!
