If he reinstates Wade, he has to admit he made a mistake of judgment. If he leaves Wade suspended and Wade escapes any charges, he looks even worse. I would suspect that Alleva is secretly hoping Wade is guilty of some FBI charge or at the very least provided enough cannon fodder for the NCAA to hammer Wade, but leave LSU unscathed and no payoff of Wade's contract, All parties involved are trying to come out unscathed, but LSU is paying the price.
I have no idea of what Wade did or did not do, but I do know that Alleva and Wade have put LSU in a very unfavorable light. Regardless, I think it will be several years before LSU basketball will recover. The harm has already been done. We may eventually see Wade and Alleva gone, a new coach and AD and a big sigh...SNAFU. The FBI has not charged Wade or any coach.

The Defense called Wade and the Feds moved to not allow him to testify.

WTH are you talking about?

Some people haven't seen the ball since the kickoff on this deal....

This is not about Wade facing criminal charges, this is about whether he committed an NCAA violation and MORE IMPORTANTLY, whether the NCAA has enough usable evidence to actual issue sanctions against LSU and/or Wade.

It’s going to be impossible for Wade to escape the current charges

Because there aren’t any. Damn

Alleva turned himself into the house eunuch. He ceded his manparts to others. FKing is calling every shot here. At this point, Joe Alleva has no more power to reinstate Wade than does the Athletic Administration Building janitor.

I am aware that the FBI has not currently charged Wade with anything, but we do not know what the scope of the FBI's investigation is and we know very few facts. The point I am making is that Alleva has few options that give him the results he wants. As for Wade, we do not know what is in play here and we will not know until the facts are brought forth.

You are correct, it's about whether there is any evidence of NCAA violations and unless there is a lot more than what has been released, there isn't a shred of evidence of any wrongdoing.

The LSU administration, and specifically Joe Alleva, handled this as badly as they possibly could have. It's hard to overstate how ridiculously fricking bad they played their hand.

There absolutely should not have been an NCAA invite to the sit down.

There was no reason to suspend

No reason to hold (suspend) Smart out

How tf do you clear Smart but keep WW out, completely asinine.

Joe Alleva public comments make it all 10 times worse

Now they are monkey fricking the football with whether or not he's reinstated.

Joe Alleva is about to have administered the death penalty to LSU basketball just as he did Duke Lacrosse and I hope he and LSU get sued for a fricking fortune by CWW, Smart and anyone else with standing

What an analytical mind.
What has been proven that Wade did?
Several years before we recover?
What is new. It was several years between Brady and Wade.
The NCAA is responsible for the shite show that is going on. They have programs too big to fail. How dare others try to join the party. They should know their place.

If WW was Dawkin's co-conspirator he'd already be charged, 100%

Alleva has no power any more. He’s basically out. Wade will be reinstated.

I hope you are right, though much damage is already done.

I can tell you this, if ANY university ever hires that man, in any capacity, they are completely fricking retarded

Cmon, don't be naive and dramatic. There is not conclusive proof of wrongdoing, but if the transcripts are true, there is some evidence that WW needs to explain away.

Was it handled well by WW and LSU? Not even close.

Keep your eye on the ball people...Fielding Alexander is the main problem.

Quit putting the heat on Alleva (he’s gone anyway). That’s just what Alexander wants. Sacrifice Alleva to save his own a$$.

"Years to recover."

"Damage is already done."

Sigh.

If Joe is gone and Wade is reinstated, we'll have a tougher row to hoe on this current class, but that's it. A year from now we'll be balling again.

Big LSU fan, are you?

Jesus Christ, you people just don't know when to stop. You get yourselves all overheated with speculation, and then start hoping for catastrophe. Personally, my hope is that all just blows over and Wade coaches at LSU next season.

But you hope for your hope, I'll hope for mine.

No he hasn’t.

The board and he suspended Wade because Wade did not come in and talk to them and show no rules were broken.

That was Wades responsibility as Wade was on tape alluding to deals being made that might be in violation of rules.

Wade comes in and talks, if he is able to clear the matter up he can be re-instated.

As much as I dislike Alleva. His hands were really tied on this.

This is maybe the stupidest comment ive ever read.

Its NOT a mistake to suspend an employee that refuses to cooperate and your ordered to do so by the university president.
