Everyone says that this junior class sucks. Well…..

Weren’t they freshmen when Johnson got here? Was he unaware that they sucked after watching them for the previous two seasons? If so, then he’s terrible at evaluating even the guys that he sees every single day.

People have to willfully ignore JJ’s entire career to blame him for this season.

Very on par for this board.

It was the first guy we grabbed in the portal. I didn’t understand it at the time, and understand it even less after 2/3 of a season.

Wasn’t Braswell our best hitter against conference opponents? I know his defense is not good at all but we need the bat. There’s not a replacement close enough to make up for him.

He wasn’t good at SC. That wasn’t a miss that was retarded to get him and put him at SS. The miss was not having a SS after our 3yr in a row league leading error machine at ss was done

Is the SEC a tougher conference than the PAC 12?

Jay is a really good coach and I fully believe that he will fix this. But to say this is not his fault, is incorrect. The team does not seem to have a lot of energy. The hitters are not any better than they were last year. The fielding has not improved. A lot of talent he brought in is not doing well.

I don’t even think it’s that. The most concerning part for me is that our biggest talent “gets” aren’t improving. Kling, Neal, Guidry, Hurd, Pearson, Coleman, Little… why aren’t any of these guys getting better?

They are regressing and if it’s not concerning to you, take the purple and gold glasses off.
And No leaders on this team. No fire and just going through the motions.

To me the chemistry sucks. At this point, forget the record and they need to focus on the positives. There is no fire. They should scrap the big goals and refocus on just a win and celebrate the small victories to get that. Sounds corny but they need to reset.

That sucks for them. It’s Jay’s responsibility to make sure that players are improving and not regressing.

And Pearson was good last season and his freshman season ! It’s called attrition! Your replacing skenes, crews, Morgan, Dugas , Beloso, Jobert, Riley cooper, plus you lost a pitcher to the draft, lost shores , they are just bad right now can’t hit the ball 2 runs in 2 games!!

He is no longer in the Pac12 playing mediocre teams. He spent his career playing in a league not near as good as the SEC. He is the #1 reason why LSU is having this type of season. He is in charge of recruiting, player development, and making the lineup cards. The players he won the title with was from a previous coaching staff with the exception of Skenes. Can he sustain it in the SEC? Right now he’s starting to look like the coach O of baseball.
