somewhere around 5 grand a week. none of those guys sign contracts for the entire season but have week by week contracts to be on the practice squad. season is 17 weeks, so an entire season on the practice squad is 85k. not bad at all. those league minimums others are posting are for guys on the active roster, you get an extra bonus for that
thanks for the answer.

@LSUBonnette:
I've been told that J. Jefferson will likely sign with the Bucs following the free agent tryout.

Do you idiots realize that maybe, just maybe, some recruits read this site?
Half of you are rooting harder for JJ to fail than you are for other LSU players to succeed. His time here is done and we are all looking forward to a more prolific offense, but to hope a 21 year old who did his best to lead the team you cheer for to fail is truly pitiful.
Whether you realize it or not, some comments made on this site affect LSU sports in one way or another.

Every SEC school has message boards this critical. If you dont give the fans something likeable about yourself you arent gonna be well liked on these boards. For example you play well or you are charismatic or you are a high character guy you arent gonna be criticized continually like JJ has been. The recruits dont care about the boards, they care about getting into the NFL.

There are plenty of players on the team that didn't play well, yet I don't see too many threads about them wishing them to fail. If you don't think recruits, one of which is family to JJ, read these comments and think about how it will affect their time here at LSU as a student athlete then you are ignorant.

Then, they better have a big chest if they sign on with LSU.
Big time college football comes with both good and bad.

Amen to that, but jerk fans come in all team colors.
Here's hoping both our X Sr QBs reach their dream of playing some pro ball.

I'm completely stunned. Stunned I tell you. I could never have predicted the NFL would take JL more seriously than JJ. Oh. Wait. I DID predict that. Along with many others I should add. Only team Jefferswag was too delusional to see that. Well. Miles too but he doesn't seem to really count. The next QB evaluation he gets right at LSU would appear to be the first.

You realize they both are undrafted and both will have shots with a team right? Nothing was "proven". In fact your metric to try and make a point doesn't even work in this situation.
Let it go.

JJ is used to people doing him big favors.

Don't worry bee. You'll be able to hold on to your delusion a bit longer.
Oh. And yes. BeIng SIGNED as an UDFA > practice squad fodder.
JJ will be cut before even one preseason game is played.

Just tried to purchase ... Out of stock already ?
Choctaw and Rickdaddy, speculators, bought the entire shipment. They expect the demand will sky rocket once JJ becomes the starter.

Why are you so fixed on this man? You really seem to have some type of crazy hold on this.
Both are practice squad "fodder". I still can't believe people are championing one over the other because they signed an undrafted rookie practice contract.
Step back and look at how ridiculous some of you are sounding. You are an intelligent guy, Rob. I enjoy reading your posts on the political talk board. We have had good discussions on there together. I just don't understand your obsession with this dead end subject.

Because Les Miles backed the fan base into 2 distinct factions. I say Les Miles because it was obvious to the entire college football world which qb was the best fit for the last two LSU seasons. Yet everytime Jarret Lee bailed out Jefferson, Miles trotted #9 back out there. The one time in two season that Jefferson outplayed Lee allowed Les Miles to cement Jefferson back in the qb spot and buried Jarret Lee forever.
It infuriated many LSU fans, and the two factions of the LSU fan base duked it out on the internet for two years, and unfortunately, the only fans willing to drop it are those that stood up for Les Miles' decision right up to the point of that national embarrassment on Jan. 9th.

I got you. I was just wondering. I know I was one defending the decisions and all. I have since said that I wish we would have tried something different when things weren't working in the game. I'm disappointed in the outcome. Still happy about the over all season though. Definitely was a fun ride.
I just hate seeing how negative people are after an sec championship winning And bcs title appearance season. Especially considering what this season has potential to be. Last season lsu exceeded expectations overall. Sure, the qb that many did not want to play, did play. But overall, the team was very successful and surpassed expectations which should make any fan happy IMO.
I look forward to this season. I'm a big mettenberger fan and will be behind him 100%. I hope the fans come back into the fold and get behind the team 100%. This has potential to be a special season. I'm looking forward to it.

Best of luck JJ. bust your arse and make your mark.
I actually think he might do well in camp. He has always preformed well in camps and practices an whatnot. Its the game day decisions that set him back. And he won't have to worry about that anytime soon.
Regardless, he's a tiger and will get the best wishes from me. Always Want tigers to succeed.
