BTW, Flynn 07 led the highest scoring offense in the history of LSU football avg, 35 per game.

we're talking about flynn, not the entire offense

how many times is a team going to average 4.9 ypc?

stupid post. can't measure leadership otherwise JM would have won all of his games. Our D SUCKED the last game against ARKY that season. It all began to go downhill after Alexander got hurt and then Dorsey.

Bad argument. Flynn >>>>>>>>>> JJ. Flynn had to play Virginia Tech (Top 10 BCS), Florida (We basicly killed their season with injuries), the usual suspects in the SEC, and he won the National Championship against a pretty good Ohio State team.

Since you posted the original message and someone has a valid point about injuries and leadership, they must disgusts you. You are a biggot.

I know what you're saying because UF/Bama 09 are much much better than anyone we played in 07, however, consider:

AU 07 > 09

SC UK 07 > UGA Vandy 09

VT 07 > UW 09

UF, Bama, Arky 09 > 07

Good question on the QB comparison though...I think it's about a push.

in CFB it's more about the best of who you beat though, at least for a top team

for a team like LSU in 2007, after about the top 15 or so the rest of the 109 teams or so should be dog food

How are the Oilers from Pearland doing this year? Did they make the playoffs and if so are they still in them? Used to live there...

bottom line you idiots. JJ has put up numbers even with flynn with no running game and no pass protection. And to the idiot who said jm( whoever the hell that is, i suppse u mean jr) jr has the highest winning percentage of any lsu qb to start 20 games and he had no running game. Get flynns balls out of your mouths. He was average to below aevrage

all top 15.

even though you need to expand that comment beyond the top 15. most non top 15 teams? sure. but how many examples are out there of teams treating all nontop15 teams like dog food?

for example you can play a tough #20 on the road when they're playing their best game--and be in for a fight even if you are a top 5 team.

no top 15 teams outside of bama/uf on our schedule this year. hell ole miss is playing right now like a top 20 team but they are borderline top 30 if you take into account their body of work this year.

"Again, 2009 [WR corps] is better but not by a mile. Flynn's receivers were very, very good."

I agree with this. Doucet was injured much of the year and LaFell had a bigger problem with drops than he does this year even if he had a relapse against Ole Miss. Although in his first year, Byrd was really good in 07.

LaFell in 2009 is pretty much a size/speed monster and catches better than he did in 07. Tolliver is excellent and Randle is a much better young WR than TT was in 07. Add RJ Jackson and Mitchell, and I think this corps is better although not by a huge margin.

unless they implode (and after a "big" win they may), they'll likely finish there

Summary of thread is flynn worshippers on here( i'm one) cant accept the fact that flynn was average to below average. Sometimes he shined bright as the sun and sometimes he was horrible. Most flynn lovers cant realize that jr was better college qb by a huge margin with no running game. Also say jj isnt ready but has put up numbers even with flynn. That cant compute in their head

right. they are top 15 so they are 'not dog food.' why would we expect to light up more than 50% of the top 15 teams we play? who does that?

but in context of the 09 vs 07 situation, you could be looking at an '09 team who plays 2 teams ranked b/w 1 and 4-5 and nobody in the top 30. and an '07 team who plays 4 of the top 15 AND arguably others in the top 30 (KY, Ark. you can't make arguments for others. im not including tennessee as flynn didnt play)

that's hardly a slam dunk for 09's schedule over 07's.

JR LOST to FLA on SHITTY PLAYS. HE HAD a VERY GOOD balance with Hester, Broussard, KW and others AND Joe Addai in 2005 DUMBASS (30th pick in 2006 draft. Stats can be made to look a certain way if you don't look at the big picture. We had 2400 yds rushing in 2006 avg. 165 ypg and a 4.8 y/carry.

Our D was BRILLANT in 2006 and 2005 and at the end of 2007 we couldn't get pressure on NO ONE. We put up 30 each of those losses in 2007. The D let us down in that regard. Les Miles call on the running play at UK probably was a sign of what was to come in 2008 and 2009.
