Pretty sure Jefferson wasn't even downfield yet when he made the signal to the ref.

Go watch the film. Just because Cauble said it, doesn't mean it's right. Cauble is an idiot.
ETA: And you are who he targets with his terrible reports, the gullable, naive fans.

not to rehash it, but youtube "les miles clock it"

So there is a video of him making a spiking signal which looks an awful lot like he's saying "clock it," and he make up an excuse about 12 men on the field justifying a spike, but then denies ever saying "clock it" in defense of one of the most braindead moves in the history of coaching. And you believe him?
Well, I don't.
Well, I don't.

I'm not saying Miles didn't make that motion, and say "clock it," "down it," or "he's down."
But he did that when Tolliver had just caught the ball and was still on the ground when the Ole Miss player was trying to take the ball from him. Jefferson was 40 yards away picking himself up off of the ground after he took a hard hit.
Once again, Jefferson never got the signal to spike it from Miles. Supposedly, it came from upstairs to the signal callers on the sideline.

And believe me, I think Miles is about as stupid as they come. I have been against him for a good while now.

Agree. He isn't that good of a coach, and he handled the end of that game horribly.
But that doesn't mean people should be able to make things up to make him seem even worse.

"he's down."
He definitely did not say this.
Ok, so if he didn't say it to Jefferson, but he did say it, then why lie about it?
And is it not totally within the realm of possibility that Jefferson, as running to catch up with the play is looking at Miles yelling clock it, even if Miles isn't looking at him?

Okay, Les Miles is not only a mediocre coach in over his head, but he's also a lying piece of shite.
Seriously, when has he lied in the past to fans that would give you reason to question this and flat out assume he was lying?

I thought SFP was better than this.
Tremendous disappointment.
BTW, Flynn 07 led the highest scoring offense in the history of LSU football avg, 35 per game.
Not:
YA Tittle
Tommy Hodson
Bert Jones
Rohan Davey
or Jamarcus Russell
but Matt Flynn.

When has there been video evidence suggesting such?
Just because he hasn't done it before or hasn't been caught before, doesn't mean it didn't happen here.
He was in complete CYA mode after the debacle.

Basically, yes. Miles was running the other diretion while he was doing the spiking motion. Jefferson couldn't even see him.
Plus, Jefferson wasn't told what to do until almost right before the snap. When he was obviously told to spike it.

he's played harder good teams (flynn played no elite teams in the regular season really)
are bama and uf better than whoever flynn played? possibly. probably.
but you seem to be pretty strict on calling a team 'elite.' are you saying there were NO elite teams in 2007 at all?
and just b/c the to 2 on lsu09's schedule are better than the top 2 on lsu07's schedule doesnt make it a harder schedule.
and we should probably focus on things like defense and probably specifically pass defense when evaluating how our opponents affect our QB. QBs only play against opposing defenses.
In 2007, LSU played 5 of the top 10 in passing yards/att defense and 2 others in the top 25. In '09 2 in the top 10 and 2 others in the top 25. In both seasons we played the top 2.

Great point. I'll take Flynn every time.

Just give it up slow and antonio. You'll never be able to convinve these guy that flynn was nothing more than a slightly above average qb. They all think he is god in cleats for some reason. They think it was zingers fault he didnt catch that ball that was a foot over his outstretched hands. Believe it or not jj has better numbers playing with no running game, no pass protection and horrible playcalling. These are the same ones who said flynn should start over Jamarcus evem when JR led flynn in every passing stat ther is to measure a qb. It really shows their football iq. No matter how many times you people say it,it doesnt change the fact that flynn was very average and evem sucked some times. Ex kentucky. And to all the dumb people who is sayin flynn led the best offense ever its because we ran over everyone that yr. Our running game was sick. I'm sorry but its true. Flynn i love him to death for winning us a championship and he will go down in lsu history but to say he was great shows peoples football iq.
