Dukke, look at my first post in this thread. I never said Hill is going to be the only RB and will get every carry. I know how Les works. Hill > Blue > Hilliard. I see a 2 headed monster with Hill and Blue.
I understand how you feel. BUT IMO HILL should get 20-25 carries a game and WIN GAMES. When you have a lead in the 4th...... Put the MAN in and take the game over. THIS is how SUCSESSFUL football works.Just ask NICK................

You mean the nick who puts Yeldon in in the 4th quarter against LSU when Lacey is "the man" or at least the starter who splits carries with the younger guy?
All coaches use their RBs situationally. The difference between Hill and Blue is that Hill is a more versatile RB with a great combo of speed, size, power, and quickness.
Blue has been a great surprise for his first year and a half, and I look forward to seeing what he's got coming back from an injury. I hope they both get significant time and play well.
Hill>Blue IMO, but if Les puts in Blue in a critical situation, I don't have a problem. But if he passes on 2nd then 3rd and short against an undersized dline i do have a problem.

Depends on which RB has the hot hand during the game. The one with the hot hand is soon benched and no longer the #1 back until the next game.

Wanna bet that Blue starts if he's healthy?
It's the Les Miles way
And what way is that? Playing the best player? Cus thats what the coaches do.
But all 3 guys will get their shot. You think blue is going to get all the touches?
When will u guys learn that the "starter" doesnt mean they get the most snaps.

When did this happen? Besides, frank has the most say in who plays.

Clemson game. Jeremy Hill was cutting through their D like a hot knife through butter, so Miles decided to let him sit out the 4th quarter.

As it should be. Blue is the best RB on the roster, IMO. You can't go wrong with Hill or Hilliard either.
But there's no reason Blue should lose his starting job Because of an injury because he was phenomenal before his injury.

...fwiw, the people that is bringing up the competition that Blue has played against....he made running vs UGA on a pretty large stage look effortless.

...to add, there's no wrong answer in this debate.
The only thing wrong is the OP using the "it's not even close" comment is pretty ridiculous.

I think a few people are forgetting how good Blue was to start the season.

against who? north texas and washington?

Blue is made of porcelain. People forget him cause he always gets hurt. He is not made to run inside. He isn't a grind it out back. Who is our best running back? That's not the question. Who is the best running back for this offense? That would be Hill. He can take physical punishment (unlike Blue) and is best combo of size and speed. If Blue runs inside he won't make the mid season mark.

where UGA's D looked like they literally didn't try to tackle him. when your FB can't find anyone to block on a lead play, the D quit.
that said, lol at ppl saying Blue can't run inside. he might not be Hester or Ware, but he ain't Murphy or Ford either.

Ford was better inside running than people give him redit for, he jsut usually was called on to stretch the field vertically
Also i think people are quick to devalue how rested legs play better at the end of a season, could be why Hilliard and Hill looked so good at the end of the last two seasons. 25 hard carries a game is a great way to burn a guy out.

I look at it this way, Hill has one thing better than Blue and that's durability. Both have power, speed, great out of back field catching, and really good vision.
Blue is a better blocker and Hill is a more durable. People will come to see that it will be like Hill and Blue the first couple games when they were a wrecking crew. If Hilliard gets back to the Hilliard of old, then he could push both for major carries.

as always with Les, the best all around back will be number 1.

I'm just glad we have all of them. We are most likely gonna need them all. Going up against SEC defenses ain't exactly a non contact situation.
Posted on 3/2/13 at 9:13 am to Methuselah
People forget that Hill had 138 yards against Bama's 9 man line. He also had 134 yards in the first half against Clemson, & Les chose to let him touch the ball once in the second half.
Coaching anyone?
