Hypothetically, what if you are arrested but didnt do anything and that is proven at a later time? Then you still violated probation?

Well no because there would be no conviction as you said. But that's assuming the latest charge is thrown out entirely, not merely pleaded down (which is still a conviction just of a lesser charge). Whether the charge is thrown out entirely remains to be seen...

Dude, it isn't all about the coach.

For some it is. I know you've been around here long enough to see that.

Unfortunately, what used to be viewed as "boys being boys" is now a criminal offense. The world has changed a helluva lot in the past few decades.

My point is the actual behavior of the players hasn't changed over the decades. Perhaps the standards used by some to Judge modern athletes are different than the standards used to judge athletes in times past. (Another example of what some people like to call the pussification of America?).

More likely the difference is the number of talking heads/sports writers with space and time to fill. And of course the interwebs like this which are always hungry for an offseason story over something that no one would have even thought twice about.

It definitely has, by necessity due to widespread social media as well as social and legal expectations.

Tigers (pun intended) don't change their stripes. While I respected his game, I never respected him as a person.

Bryant had plenty of reasons to worry about his players after they left the practice field. Big Jack Powell liked to walk around campus yanking parking meters out of the ground. He then banged the meters on the ground until they coughed up some change.

You seem to be missing my point. Athletes were worse behaved back in the day and it was accepted. It's no longer accepted and widely publicized..
