LSU running back Jeremy Hill was arrested for battery by Baton Rouge City Police Friday night, according to NBC 33 TV in Baton Rouge. The incident occurred at Reggie's, an off-campus bar near LSU.
LSU Coach Les Miles was out of town and unavailable for comment, LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette said. "Coach Miles is on his way back to Baton Ruge to find out exactly what happened," Bonnette said. "Until he has a chance to visit with Jeremy, he's going to reserve comment.
Hill was LSU's leading rusher as a freshman last season with 755 yards and 12 touchdowns on 142 carries.
