You guys are really reaching to try to defend Jefferson now.

Don't you think the discussion should be based on as much factual information as possible? I'm tired of JJ too, but I appreciate the number crunching. It may open some eyes.

For what it's worth JJ has a QB rating at the BOTTOM (except for the New Mexico QB) of the NCAA rankings. Now I didn't notice where JL fits in, and less face facts neither one is Heisman material, JL seems to be doing a better job this season and JJ..... Well let's be honest he SUCKS.
I think they need to let JL start this Saturday and use JJ if well never!

Geaux Tigers!!!

JJ isn't playing well enough to continue to get all the snaps. Period.

I would think that would be why JL sees the field more.

Its this simple. If you watched this game as well as the last 3, its obvious at this time who's better for LSU's offense.

If you dispute that, i can say witgh confidence youre probably an idiot. Period.

Anyone who disagrees with this is crazy

Right. And that's obviously because of the 83 yard run which is a huge outlier.

You know this. Stop making stupid pointless arguments.
You want to ignore facts? Okay.

Take out Lee's and Jefferson's best play, and Jefferson still has more yards per play.

So now JJ gets credit for plays where the runner gets more yardage on hand offs than they do for Lee?

That's incredibly stupid man

Lee capped two of JJ's drives when we got in & long situations.

JJ capped the game winner for Lee.

Then did you remove the yardage JL gained in saving drives for JJ???

frick these numbers. If Lee gets all the snaps he could certainly do everything Jefferson did minus the 83yd run. However, Jefferson can't do what Lee did, which is make clutch throws to keep drives alive. Give me Lee for now. JJ's attitude is enough to bench his arse right now anyway.

I just don't put a lot of faith in Jefferson affecting our run game that much. With such a tiny sample size, there's no way to say it isn't a statistical anomaly.

Lee is above Jefferson in my book. But not head and shoulders above him. Lee made some shaky throws saturday but I like his intangibles way better than JJ.

The one stat I don't see is JJ's stats on the last drive. Let me refresh your memory. 1 yard rushing and a nervous breakdown with 25 seconds left. All Lee did was drive us 65+ yards to the 2 with an incredible 4th and 14 pass for a first down with the game on the line. Yeah JJ is way better than Lee. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It appears to me this thread has turned in to a "who's better" thread. In that case, im right on point.

Lee played about a half of football, maybe less. Not enough to base an argument off of. JJ isn't playing well enough to get most of the snaps, period. He either had to improve or become the backup. He isn't getting the job done, which will most likely become painfully obvious (to those few delusional folk still hanging on) Saturday.

His passing game this year may be as bad as I have seen in a FBS QB.

JJ played like shite in the passing game Saturday.
But it seems Lee played like shite for our running game...

A lot of people can't see the method and are thinking anybody can handoff.
Lee can't do option, isn't so good at zone reads, and doesn't give opp D that horizontal stretch.
This is where Ridley's cutbacks and Shep's misdirection originate.
It would really be best for the O if Jefferson would come out of this funk, but it is what it is.

The only argument for JJ is that his presence on the field spreads the defense out because of the "threat" of the option / his running "ability". And this makes the running game better.

But if our fool coaches could figure out a way to make RS or someone else the outside threat while keeping the passing threat of Lee in the game, you'd think that Ridley would benefit.

Yeah, I think that accounts for something.

And I'm not saying anything to JJ vs. Shep/Ware or whoever playing the running role.

But one a one game sample, which is admittedly not much, this says something about who is operating our running game better.

Do the penalties and sacks come into play with these numbers? If not, I thought we defnitely were backed up when Lee was under center...
No. Lee caused most of the penalties when he was QB: delay of game, intentional grounding, illegal forward pass.

Based on the numbers are you a fan of the 2 QB system, assuming its run correctly (if thats possible)?
Each QB brings something to the table. When you have 2 QBs, you have no QB. When you have no QB, you have 2 QBs.

quote:

Would you rather just stick with JJ and see if he gets into some sort of groove?
No. Lee needs to see substantial playing time. 50% or more. Particularly against teams with a bad pass defense.

JJ - 0
JL - 1

Number of times Jefferson looks lost
