Option are run best when the qb is a threat to run it. The qb has to run it to be a threat. Pretty simple.

Hmmm.....then we actually would have a QB controversy...who starts, Jefferlee or Leeferson?

He was noticeably faster but I'd like to see him protect the ball better.

That play where he ran in for a TD.... he was holding it like a loaf of bread. I can't believe he didn't drop it. Glad he didn't though!!

As far as running style, I think it's a fair comparison. Jefferson doesn't have a fraction of the arm that VY has, though. Young was a great passer too.

Their running styles can be compared. Their running ability can be compared. But to compare them as players.. well, that's ridiculous

Definetly faster. I think there is alot of setups going on right now. A very long game plan if you will for nov 5th.

I promise you the scheme we have been using for run defense is one of them (I hope)

This has to be one of the dumbest Topics ever.

JJ looking like Vince Young against Tennessee....

The same Tennessee who can hang their hats on victories over Montana, Buffalo, and Cincinnati.

Let's see... VY was only able to singlehandedly manhandle a USC team that was absolutely loaded on both sides of the ball, oh AND it was in the BCSNCG.

You are a moron.

What's sad as a fanbase is not as much the OP, but bow many people posted in here agreeing. What must other fanbases reading this thread think of the mentality of LSU fans?

JJ didn't have the size of a newton, tebow or young. Otherwise I don't see a difference. He is running in the 4.5 4.6 range and has become more agile.

And he is not a bad passer.

why do you care what other fan bases or people on this board think? It's to going to change. Making a comparison is just that, no one is saying he is better then. Comparing him to Denis Dixon, pat white or Thomas doesn't work.

Dreaux, are you saying except for size, JJ is comparable to TIm Tebow, Cam Newton, and Vince Young?

JJ will always be a one trick pony-all run and no pass

Running wise comparable with les wiggle. Reading defenses, and pocket awareness no.

I think throwing ability is a wash. I also think newton is on another level physically then all of the above.
