re: Jeff Tedford for OC

I disagree about tendency breaking. Just by how we are lined up and motion I can usually guess the play we are running 9 of 10 times. By guessing in the passing game I am referring to knowing who the main target is and his route. Things have been clicking recently so I am not complaining, I am just saying our play calling is very predictable if you watch even a little film.

quote:Good question, but I think 'since Alabama' is not necessarily the argument here, you are shading the argument to be in your favor based on recent events. I agree that it has gotten better, the problem is that what we have seen year over year since 2008, is that it takes the offense so long to get going in the first place.
OK, so with injuries and a patchwork OL, what would make you happy on offense that hasn't been done since Alabama?
Easily the first 6 games of every season are head scratching, WTF?, aggravation, and disbelief moments where we see little consistency, poor player development, and bad play calling. The only common denominator from 2008-2012 is Les Miles. We have since been through 3 OC's (Crowton, Krags, and Stud), numerous position coaches like Gonzales who brought no value and were then discarded.
I think for once LSU fans would love to see a team come out of the gates strong (think VA Tech and Miss St in 2007), instead of somehow finally finding footing at Game 7 or 8 in the season so that everyone can 'feel good' about 2 losses and a bowl game at season's end. It's just as important as to how you start as to how you finish.
Imagine a strong OC mind like Tedford or whoever (to compliment Chavis on D). What a powerhouse we would be! Les is a great CEO type of person for the program, I agree he is a good guy and the players love him, yada yada, but the missing link is a creative, progressive offensive mind that thinks Offense first - not as a way to 'not lose' games- but as a way to win them.

I'll go ahead and throw another OC name in the hat who is now unemployed: Tennessee's Jim Chaney.

I agree with what Speedy said. This thread is so retarded.

It would not hurt my feelings if Stud left. If Krags steps down, he'd be an awesome hire.

Dude....the offense is tearing it up right now. Why are you bitching about it?
Seriously?

I love stupid arse comments like this. Sure fire sign that anything this person says is complete bullshite and they tend to exaggerate and make up facts to support their stupid fricking positions. Thanks for making yourself so obviously irrelevant.

Man, sorry the rant forgot to send you flowers while you were in your coma throughout the 2011 season. We really should have gotten together and done something for this dude.

I am glad, however, that you are finally giving credit to Miles as the only common denominator from a team that has improved from 8 to 9 to 11 to 13 wins over that stretch. Took a bit of a step back this year, wasn't much room to go up obviously, but pretty pumped about our potential to improve yet again next year under Miles' direction.

I was thinking the same thing. Would love to have him here. I'm sure he wants another head coach job and Les prolly thinks there's no need.

No you can't.
And anyway, you have to have tendencies to break them.

sure he can, after every play he says to his buddy..."I knew we were going to run that play"

We are 9-2, what's wrong with Stud and Krag? This is stupid. Also, if Mett comes along a little sooner I still think we beat Florida.

I work with a Cal football alum and he says people are always telling him, "Dude, you have guys all over the league. Why do your teams still suck?"
