JD5 first season at LSU

Constantly took off running. Left the pocket with even the slightest hint of pressure.
Even Chambliss last year was like that.
Then both of them in year 2 learned to stay calm and step up in pocket and their production became elite.
Sometimes guys who can run depend on that ability too much.
I think Leavitt can be same. He needs to learn to hang in there.

So since we know he sucks year 1, why not play someone else in meantime until year 2

I agree. I think you have to factor in how late he started practicing with these guys too.

Agree. He is a run first and doesnt look down field for Wr's open just like JD was his first year and a half at LSU. Hoping LK can get him right because teams are just going to load the box and make Sam pass to beat them.

Then year 2 becomes year 1.
Somewhere along the way we started expecting first year QBs to win now.

They look remarkably similar. It took JD a whole year to figure out that he needs to trust his receivers and play calling and throw the ball. I hope it doesn't take Leavitt that long. But JD also had much much better receivers to work with

Yes. That’s what we did with Chambliss last night. And he did beat us passing,
And when ed adjusted to take away pass he then ran on a TD

Now go in and add the first three games of the next. And remember Daniels has started a ton of games and was not injured for a year.
