I’m not asking if we are a better team. I’m just asking if we are a better program. The other poster seems to know but he hasn’t given anything of substance

Do you think the program was in better shape a year ago?

Team wise I think this year is a little better but not by much. As a program, that could be debated all day.

You seem to be implying that we aren't.

I’m not implying anything. Just asking a question. Very few people understand the difference between a team and a program. All anyone has to do is reference the 2019 football team. Huge difference

Well fine then what is your answer to the question?

Time will tell. Due to work I haven’t talked to as many people as normally do. I’ve been told some good things and some bad things.

So you have commented on one recruiting class and a few stats comparing seasons. I’m not arguing with you or disagreeing or agreeing with you. But you aren’t doing a very good job of saying where the PROGRAM is better. Team means this year, program means every single thing day in day out, on field off field, literally every single faucet

How many injured arms this season as compared to the past?
Off the field, LSU has NEVER had issues with players and all
Of a sudden Dylan Crews is going to win an award for what he is doing in the community.
We will see what happens with grades and graduation rate but frick man, the year isn’t over so I don’t know where that will be. May take about 3 years to see a change there.

I’m not there day in or out and NEITHER ARE YOU. So you have NO IDEA about day in or out.

What I didn’t hear was Johnson throwing players down and then backing the bus over them repeatedly.

They did screw up and let the umps start 2 games that should have been cancelled or pushed in LaTech and Ole Miss. Maybe that is worse.

You may want to ask some players about the throwing under the bus thing. And there are always off the field issues, then and now. You just may not know about them. How they are dealt with is part of the program

I’m just curious since you seem to KNOW this

I think this is a superior coaching staff all around. I think the recruiting is better and the HC is better. Johnson has been to Omaha twice in a shorter period of time.

Time will tell.

LSU was a 13-17 team last year and that was with Marceaux.

LSU before this season was a .500 SEC team over the course of several years I believe? I don't remember the specific amount of years for the stat. Hilliard has always been solid, but he improved his stats. LSU is more attractive under Jay Johnson, IMO. Listen to what the recruits are saying about him. They believe he is the best hitting coach in the country.

I'm really not sure exactly what response you are looking for, but LSU is trending in the right direction.

Not looking for any certain type of response. I’m just chatting about the program since people on here know about it

“since people on here know about it”

They don’t, that’s why your neutral question baffles and upsets them.

You’re kinda getting ahead of yourself. Some of those questions no one has an answer to until at least year 3 with Johnson having all of his players in tact.

That’s not true. He’s been running the program since June. You don’t think issues have happened in that time span?

Just for discussion, when BK took over in football he had to completely rebuild the team and the program. When JJ took over baseball he needed to tweak the roster some but the program overall was in good shape. It’s just something to watch how that develops or declines. That’s all I’m saying

You seem to hint like you are neutral, but then continue to take that stance.

Then go ahead and explain what his issues are?

I see a guy who improved the hitting, pitching, overall and SEC record in a short amount of time.

What if I told you LSU gave up 315 earned runs last year to something like 232 this year? And then I told you he didn't even have a Marceaux on the staff. Batting avg against last year's team was .252 vs .235 this year.

I believe our runs scored scored went from 315 to 471.

Sorry if I missed your previous comments, but please go ahead and list the issues. Prior to the tourney, LSU was a top 4 SEC baseball team. That is with some roster issues, but I believe he is correcting them.

He seems to be improving the team and program in a short period of time. I am excited. I rather have a head coach that is a guru at either hitting or pitching than one who isn't.

I don’t think he’s done too bad for his first season. Team is not great but they’re good. If we see improvement in the playoffs or next season then there isn’t anything to worry about.

I’m going to wave the white flag on this. You, like others are comparing teams and not the program. I’m not insinuating anything. I’m asking
