What makes you think our oline is going to block any better against SEC teams?

I agree,he's not Michael Vick, but dude is a threat against every team.Another thing, this offense excels at uptempo, which Saban hates.I know we lost last week, but I trust BK's decision by making daniels the starter.

Will just fine if he makes more throws where he keeps his eyes down the field because then a defense can't commit spies on him without getting shredded through the air. It will give defense fits. Committing to the run too early on a play will get him ate up against better defenses because they won't respect his ability to throw. Once they see him commit they'll hone in like a missile. He throws a nice pretty ball if he just keeps progressing and getting rid of bad habits he can be REALLY good.

You do realize he has the highest QB rating in the entire SEC (and it’s not close) right?

Kid’s got pretty good vision. He recognizes when he needs to move because of pressure. He runs like he’s on fire much like Bryce Young at Bama, however his ball does not come out as pretty at Young’s ball leaving the hand. If Jayden can improve his passing he will be a force to behold. Jayden is still a raw talent but
Coach Kelly saw a lot of potential in the young man. I’m glad we got Jayden because Nuss is not ready for SEC football yet.

Cool, Nuss just got exposed and Crushed against Southern.

Jayden is the best guy we have and he’s not a bad college QB.

So shut the frick up unless you have a solution.

Actually it’s very close, he’s barely ahead of Bennett and QBR has been debunked for years anyway, here’s why.

We get it, we all Racists because we think a QB should be able to find a complete a pass to a wide open receiver. He is in his 4th year and does the same things that 1 first year QB does. He has not improved his defensive reading skills. And just so you know, Nuss is not the answer either.

It’s pretty clear this is what won Daniels the job. Because Nuss has so much arm talent, and confidence in it, he’s going to force things. I think we forget he’s still a redshirt freshman. He needs a little more time to polish his decision making. You don’t want to extinguish that gun slinger mentality, but it does need to be refined a bit. He’ll learn when to force things and when to accept a check down or throw it away. He’s just young.

Next season will be a really interesting battle between him and Walker!

Coaches said that.

But he's getting better with each possession, IMO.

Then who else do you have after those 2?

That’s not gonna cut it when we hit league play. Once teams have the ability to compress the field with better man coverage they’re going to commit a couple of guys to Daniels and that will be that. The QB cannot ignore large areas of the field the way he does, the offensive design will have to change to suit him better.

I get the sentiment but it’s a bit of a chicken and egg scenario, no?

If the defense doesn’t give him all of those wide open running lanes, maybe he doesn’t take them. If they do give him as much space as we saw against FSU, he’s certainly athletic enough to still make plays against SEC defenses.

Many (if not most) of the big runs in the FSU game were against man coverage where Florida State blitzed and the route combos took all of the DBs out of Daniels’ running lane.

If SEC teams put a spy on Daniels (as Florida State did in the second half) that’s either one less pass rusher or one less defender in coverage. Either way is advantageous for the downfield passing game. And then if Daniels does run, the spy still has to actually be able to catch him.

All of that being said, yes Daniels had room for improvement after week 1 and yes Denbrock can probably put him in better position to utilize his strengths. But I’m hopeful that the two weeks between FSU and Mississippi State are enough to get a lot of that stuff cleaned up.

If anyone thinks that JD will scramble this team to a winning season in the absence of an effective passing game, he is delusional.

JD has limited vision.

He has over 74% completion, what the heck are you complaining about? These receivers are very talented but they need to break their route when he scrambles.

Dude, save me your reverse psychology BS. You dont have to flat out tell me you're one for me to know if its in you or not. People hide how they feel with covert/unfair comments, unnecessary player comparisons, etc.
