See the difference?

nobody here is claiming Jayden is a perfect QB. People on this board quote literally do hate him, shite on him constantly, and give him absolutely no credit whatsoever. That may not be you specifically but there are a ton of people who do that every single day on here. Because of this those posters are met with responses that are just as extreme but on the opposite side of the argument.

In reality Jayden is a good QB but he needs to be better if we want to take the next step. This will be the first time in his career he has the same OC 2 years in a row, there is no reason to believe he can’t or won’t improve

He needs to play like he did against Bama and Florida and not auburn, Arkansas, and aTm

I just think we don’t use him correctly. I think the way we do causes too many wasted plays but I think when he’s used right we can beat very good team like vs Bama. That’s been my stance all season.

That’s not true. He had the second lowest yards per pass for an LSU QB in the last 20 years, the 24th ranked ypc in the SEC, he took 43 sacks behind a line that was 8th nationally in time allowed and had a lower passer rating than Danny Etling and Jarrett Lee. Those are far from “outstanding metrics”.

As someone else pointed out those stats you quoted are wrong. What about his total yards? Completion %? Total TD? QBR? TD/INT ratio? PFF grade? Funny how you left all those out and instead focus on YPA like that’s the supreme stat when it comes to evaluating QBs lol.

The stats are correct and again you’re elevating volume above effectiveness and efficiency. He had 517 plays, that’s 100 more than any other QB besides Joe Burrow I’m LSU history and 200 more than guys like Mettenberger or Hodson for example. Like I said it’s a false equivalency and a lack of understand statistics.

I have and your fake stats don’t change reality. Portraying Max Johnson and TJ Finley as starters in 2020 proves your false equivalency.

Must not be a reliable source. Per NCAA statistics, JD #40 passing effeciency, #43 yards, not top 50 yds/game, not top 50 passing yds/completion, not top 50 yds/pass attempt. Straight from NCAA. PFF's ranking dosesnt add up. Statistics dont lie!

PFF had Sam Bradford as the top NFL QB in 2016 for most of the season. That tells you all you need to know about their grading system.

What’s fake about those stats? Where are you getting yours from?

Max Johnson and TJ Finley we’re 2nd and 3rd string QBs in 2020 but you used them to compare starting QBs. You also took the worst seasons and non starting years from other QBs. It doesn’t get any more misleading than that

They were the only QBs who qualified for the stat in 2020 with enough playing time.

Bud, you said the 2nd worst yards per pass over the last 20 years. I went thought every season and posted all of those seasons where the QB who played the majority of our games did worse than Jayden. The only season where more than one LSU QB even qualified for the stat was 2020. Every other year only one QB played enough to qualify.

So you think 517 plays is comparable to 169? And why use 2 backups for a season if your standard was “majorly starts”? Either way you know better

Our starter player in 4 games that year. We should use those stats? But take 2020 out of the post, your stat is still wayyyy wrong. I didn’t alter or omit anything. I pulled the stats directly from football-reference. You were wrong. Just own it.

They played an unconventional defense that caught LSU off guard and it's also underrated at how shitty the conditions were. LSU got slammed with a sub tropical system the night before that actually hit the area pretty hard in some parts.

They blew their wad in the first half and never really threatened LSU to win that game. Auburn also had the defense with several high pick DL on it that could play the packages to disrupt LSU. Clemson tried to do the same thing and LSU got a slow start there then ravaged them. Auburn's offense was not good enough to threaten LSU to win that game. It was over by the 4th and everyone knew it despite the score.

Up 17-0 and never had a chance to beat a team that scored 24 points and 0 in the 4th quarter. This is some next level mental gymnastics. Your attempted contextual argument about the events surrounding the game disproves your argument it doesn’t help it.

Burrow- 10.8
Mett- 10.4
Jruss- 9.1
Rohan- 9.0
Etling- 9.0
Mauck- 7.9
Harris- 7.8
Lee- 7.8
Max- 7.55
JD- 7.51
Jefferson- 7.3
Flynn- 6.7

Forgot Flynn was off by 1. Still much more accurate than your misleading attempt

We beat one team that scored over 30 points against us in regulation, a sub .500 team with a terrible defense. Every other team who scored over 30 against us blew us out. We can’t win shootouts because the QB can’t keep up because he’s not good enough throwing the ball.

Wtf kind of asinine goal post moving is this?

UGA only beat two teams that scored 30+ against them “in regulation”, and one of them was us in a blowout.

LSU was Top 25 in scoring offense with apparently no ability to throw the ball. Go figure.

It’s not goalpost moving it’s fact. And UGA didn’t lose let alone get blown out of any games like we did so that comparison doesn’t apply at all. We played UGA and that’s a perfect example, it was 35-10 with JD in there and 20-15 our favor when he wasn’t which is the whole point.
